Updates to Nike Air Max Sequent 4

  • The latest iteration of the Nike Air Max Sequent presents a modern design that sustains the classic reliability of a daily running shoe. As it belongs to the Air Max family, this shoe possesses the iconic details that are familiar to many Nike running shoe enthusiasts. The Air Max Sequent 4 is ideal for neutral runners who frequent the roads.
  • An engineered mesh upper provides the shoe with a lightweight and breathable coverage, which is a slight redesign from the stretch-knit material used in the previous version. It offers flexibility as necessary during the stride.
  • The midsole retains the U-shaped Air Max unit that efficiently attenuates shock and impact throughout the transition phase. Together with a special foam underneath the heel, the Air Max cushions each step, resulting in a comfortable and responsive ride.

Nike Air Max Sequent 4 size and fit

Like its first editions, the Nike Air Max Sequent 4 has a standard running shoe length and is built with an anatomical foot shape. The shoe’s high-arch and moderate breadth are suitable for wearers with average foot volumes, while its secure heel and midfoot areas contribute to a precise and comfortable fit. The Nike Air Max Sequent 4 comes in medium width for both the men’s and women’s versions.

Outsole

A carbon-rubber compound makes up the one-piece outsole of the Nike Air Max Sequent 4. Known for its durability, carbon rubber guarantees the outsole’s long-lasting efficiency and protection against wear and tear. The width of the material also adds to the effectiveness of these characteristics.

The tread pattern includes articulated flex grooves that effectively contribute to a smooth ride, as it enables more mobility that is attuned towards natural foot motion. It also provides traction that excels on roads, pavements, and other similar surfaces.

The U-shaped Air Max foam unit in the heel area provides cushioning that maintains a fresh feeling with each step. Because of the air-filled structure, the Air Max Sequent 4 is equipped with a softer quality that makes more forgiving landings, therefore resulting in a more pleasant running experience. This feature also claims to amplify the responsiveness that is delivered by the midsole.

Midsole

The signature Air Max midsole material, which is present in some running shoes from Nike, equips the shoe with maximum cushioning against impact. It is primarily designed to handle the constant force from running, and protect the underfoot from damage.

The Air Max is created to minimize the brutal effects of running impacts so that it would not hamper the running performance. In crafting this unique material, Nike uses a technique called “blow-molding,” pumping the most amount of air, but also taking care not to weaken the structure of the Air Max unit. To protect the material and the rest of the shoe, dual-pressure cushioning is employed. This method also focuses on rearfoot stability, which is through the U-shaped figure that is visible up to the outsole.

Assisting the Air Max cushion in the Nike Air Max Sequent 4 is the Phylon, a foam that is constructed from compression-molded ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) pellets. This lightweight and springy material supplies the right amount of bounce for the ultimate responsiveness.

Upper

A breathable engineered mesh in the upper offers the Air Max Sequent 4 a lightweight feel, supported by synthetic overlays that deliver structural integrity. Beneath the mesh is a partial inner sleeve made of fabric, providing a secure and snug fit by wrapping around the foot and moving along with it.

In addition, a Nike engineered mesh upper is known to provide a dynamic, and light fit allows the easiest of movements. This technique retains the functionality of the shoe while maintaining a modernized design and structure. The engineered mesh in the upper uses fewer stitches, therefore more comfortable and more flexible than conventional methods.

Acting as a heel counter is a piece of molded foam. It locks the foot in place and works in avoiding accidental slip-outs. Meanwhile, a notched tongue enables comfortable wear by letting the foot slip into the shoe effortlessly.

The collar of the Air Max Sequent 4 has a lightly padded structure that adds to the comfort and secureness of the shoe. Completing the upper is a traditional lace-up closure that gives the shoe a classic look.
