Overall, it's just a really really solid training shoe at what I think is a pretty fair price point.
If you’re familiar with the Nike Metcon, this is a very similar, though much lighter shoe. I’d even argue it’s more versatile.
- The Nike Train Speed 4 is a versatile everyday training shoe that is suitable for a wide spectrum of physical training activities. It has the same low-cut build as the previous iteration, which allows for natural ankle mobility. However, its design took a complete departure from the earlier version because its upper now has a synthetic leather cut-out covering the mesh.
- The trainer is equipped with a set of diagonal and crosshatched Flywire cables to ensure a snug fit. They prevent the foot from moving around during quick cuts and transitional movements.
- Instead of a Zoom Air cushioning system like in the Train Speed 3, it has an injected-unit foam midsole infused with recessed TPU in the forefoot for lightweight comfort and flexibility.
- The rubber outsole features aggressively-patterned treads for multi-directional traction. It also employs deep flex grooves to accommodate the natural flexibility of the foot.
The Nike Train Speed 4 is a cross-training shoe that is specifically made for men. It tends to run on the smaller and narrower side, so it is recommended to get half-a-size to one size larger than your regular training shoe size. The shoe is only available in a standard D – Medium width.
