Overall, it's just a really really solid training shoe at what I think is a pretty fair price point.

  • 80 / 100 | Sun and Sole

If you’re familiar with the Nike Metcon, this is a very similar, though much lighter shoe. I’d even argue it’s more versatile.

All in all this is a great shoe for all of my workout needs and I’d highly recommend them!

Updates to Nike Train Speed 4

  • The Nike Train Speed 4 is a versatile everyday training shoe that is suitable for a wide spectrum of physical training activities. It has the same low-cut build as the previous iteration, which allows for natural ankle mobility. However, its design took a complete departure from the earlier version because its upper now has a synthetic leather cut-out covering the mesh.
  • The trainer is equipped with a set of diagonal and crosshatched Flywire cables to ensure a snug fit. They prevent the foot from moving around during quick cuts and transitional movements.
  • Instead of a Zoom Air cushioning system like in the Train Speed 3, it has an injected-unit foam midsole infused with recessed TPU in the forefoot for lightweight comfort and flexibility.
  • The rubber outsole features aggressively-patterned treads for multi-directional traction. It also employs deep flex grooves to accommodate the natural flexibility of the foot.

Nike Train Speed 4 size and fit

The Nike Train Speed 4 is a cross-training shoe that is specifically made for men. Its length follows standard footwear sizing measurements. The width is D-Medium, despite the wider forefoot construction. Its semi-curved shape follows the natural curvature of the human foot, so it is recommended to try the shoe in person in order to get an accurate fit.

The Nike Train Speed 4 delivers traction via the aggressively patterned treads on the rubber outsole. They ensure optimal surface control regardless of the ground conditions.

Deep flex grooves are added to make sure that flexibility is afforded to the foot. They essentially allow the sole unit to be more accommodating of the natural movement capacity.

The Nike Train Speed 4’s fabric-made inner sleeve covers the top of the foot for a snug fit. It also absorbs sweat and keeps the foot dry.

The removable foam insole absorbs impact from the foot. It lessens the risk of discomfort or injury to the knee and ankle.

An injected-unit foam midsole is employed to deliver lightweight cushioning. The forefoot area is equipped with recessed TPU for responsiveness and natural foot flexion.

This shoe has a low heel drop of 4 mm and a wide forefoot size. It gives support that’s close-to-the-ground.

The low-cut profile of the Nike Train Speed 4 is emphasized by its cut-out-designed upper. It is made of synthetic leather and integrated with breathable mesh.

Nike’s proprietary Flywire technology system of diagonal and crosshatched cables offers a form-fitting feel. It locks down the foot during dynamic and explosive movements.

Its lightweight and breathable thin tongue and lightly padded collar secure the ankle to prevent unwanted heel slippage. These parts do this without weighing the foot down.
