  • The Nike Zoom Strike 2 is an entry to the international roster of neutral running shoes. This offering makes use of sporty yet uncluttered design, following the visual blueprint of its predecessor, the original Zoom Strike model. The difference lies in the upper as the 2nd version heightens its use of printed overlays while reducing the Flywire cables from three to two. Such elements aim to evolve the snugness and the unrestrained feeling of the in-shoe experience.
  • A full-length cushioning unit is featured in the Strike 2. This platform is tasked with protecting the foot from impact. At the front is an embedded Zoom Air unit, a plastic cassette of compressed air that energizes the toe-off. While the foam midsole also serves as the outsole, there are rubber layers on high-wear areas for traction and protection against wear-and-tear.

The Nike Zoom Strike 2 has a standard running shoe length. Runners are welcome to choose a pair using their usual sizing expectations. Full and half-sizes grant some allowance if it is needed. When it comes to width, the available choices are D – Medium and B – Medium for men and women, respectively. The semi-curved shape of this shoe’s platform mimics the natural outline of the human foot.

The 2nd version of the Nike Zoom Strike has an outsole unit that primarily consists of ground-contact foam. The same compound that's utilized for the midsole is also partly responsible for surface traction. This layer has tread-patterns and mild protrusions that provide extra grip.

The areas of the forefoot and heel that are susceptible to abrasion are covered with rubber. This extra layer of protection preserves the structure of the midsole foam, preventing it from wearing off quickly. Rubber is also a material that permits surface control through adherence.

A full-length foam serves as the Nike Zoom Strike 2’s midsole unit. This cushioned piece supports the entire underside of the foot, saving it from impact shock and helping it as it gears itself towards the toe-off.

Zoom Air is a plastic cassette that is filled with compressed air. This small add-on is placed in the forefoot section of the midsole. Its purpose is to put a bit of volume and springiness to the experience, giving an energized oomph to the forefoot lifts. This technology has also been used in Pegasus 35 and other best-selling Nike running shoes.

The front of the Nike Zoom Strike 2’s upper unit features a multilayered mesh. This configuration offers extra durability without sacrificing ventilation as there are minute breathing pores on its façade. The layered approach also prevents small stones from entering the foot-chamber.

The midfoot and rear sections of the silhouette uses a mesh that has a more open construction than the one at the front. Air is permitted to enter and exit the foot through these portals, maintaining a cool and dry interior environment for the foot.

Printed overlays help the upper when it comes to securing the foot and locking it in place. These thin synthetic sheets also bolster the structure of the fabrics, saving them from sagging or losing pizazz, even after multiple runs.

Two Flywire cables are fashioned on both the lateral and medial sides. These wires are meant to act as connective tissues that link the traditional lacing system to the rest of the cover system. When the laces are tightened or loosened, these cables also react, thus giving a customized yet precise adjustment of the fit.

The lightly padded collar cushions the ankles and the Achilles tendon. It also averts in-shoe wobbling or accidental shoe removals.

A pull-tab is stitched onto the back of the collar. This strip of fabric acts as an anchor for the finger to permit effortless wearing and removal of the shoe. It is also a convenient loop if the runner desires to hang the shoe on a hook.
