Nike Vortak History

Nike has been taking the world by a storm ever since it entered the market nearly fifty years ago and the massive following it has today is nothing short of amazing. But how exactly did this brand with a humble beginning gain the popularity it has now?

Blue Ribbon Sports (BRS) was founded in 1964 when a former runner named Phil Knight partnered up with his former coach, Bill Bowerman. This company that the two founded was the earlier outline of what would soon become a powerhouse brand. In 1971, the duo began to work with a factory in Japan and produced a line of sneakers, a line they named Nike. From there, the two churned out Nike’s first shoe, and the rest was history.

Nike’s goal upon entering the 21st century is heavily influenced by the need to innovate, to move forward, and to get ahead of the game in the sneaker world. The path the brand took led them to add technological advancements to the sneakers it created. One great example of this is when Nike came out with the Flywire in 2008. It was deemed to be inspired by NASA and its use of Vectran material. Slowly, they updated that into the Flyknit technology with the aim to focus on going lighter. This advancement was something revolutionary in the sneaker market and had a lot of running enthusiasts and sneakerheads clamoring to get Flyknit Nike shoes.

Jumping on to the form-fitting sock-like craze, Nike now adds another great design to its casual sneaker roster in the form of the Nike Vortak. With shiny new silhouette’s coming out by the dozen in 2018, this sneaker is a stunner with its simple sock-like design. The Nike Vortak low-top pushes the boundary of style and is a definite must-have for the fashion forward person. With great progressions and advancement for the world-renowned brand, Nike is posed and ready to make an even more significant impact than before.
