Nike LunarCharge Essential History
From the archives of the Nike brand, four of their iconic shoes were taken inspiration from in order to create a new silhouette. With one design taken from each of the shoes and combined together, thus the birth of the Nike LunarCharge.
The Air Max 90 gave inspiration for the eyestays while the neoprene material was from the 1988 Nike Air Flow. The Air Presto provided the bootie construction for the shoe as the 1990 Air Current offered the inspiration for the wider shape of the silhouette. An added cushioning system, the Lunarlon cushioning, was also provided. It was presented first in the Nike LunarEpic.
The LunarCharge was officially released in 2016 in a combination of black, white, and gray colorway with some hints of speckled design. New other colorways were released after for both men and women, allowing the people to have more choices in grabbing a pair of the shoe. Along with these other colorways was the triple black which features an all-black motif for everything on the shoe including the tongue, the laces, and as well as both the midsole and the outsole.
The Nike LunarCharge Premium is a variation of the LunarCharge in which the silhouette was given a premium iteration and represented in a lifestyles design which is accommodating for both men and women. The model features a suede panelling with hints of neoprene and synthetic material on the upper. The shoe also showcases some perforated detailing on its upper and the whole design was complemented with a laser-siped lunarlon outsole.
