Nike Air Force 1 Flyknit Low History
The Nike Air Force 1 Flyknit Low is a fusion of Nike’s renowned creations: The Air Force 1 sneakers and the Flyknit technology. People saw it coming in 2015 with Nike’s obsession with their innovative knitted upper. And in the same year, various pop culture websites had a first look feature of the silhouette in an all-white colorway. Nike Designer Jonathan Johnsongriffin spearheaded the creation of the Air Force 1 Flyknit models. The mid-tops and low-tops were released in 2016.
Its original silhouette, the Air Force 1 has been dominating the sneakers scene since its release in 1982. It was initially a basketball shoe named after the airplane that’s being used by the President of the USA. Designed by Bruce Kilgore, it was the first hoops shoe applied with the Nike Air technology. It transformed the games of NBA players such as Charles Barkley and Moses Malone.
The shoe also has a place in the hearts of people that are into hip-hop culture. Although it was the Air technology on the pedestal when the AF1 was first released, it’s now the shoes’ iconic status that’s being greatly admired. As of 2005, 12 million pairs of these were sold.
Before coming up with the innovative upper, Nike spent more than a decade of research to create the next evolution of footwear. Ultimately, the footwear giant received feedback from runners. These athletes wanted to have a shoe that has a snug fit like that of a sock. Nike began its quest with the cooperation of programmers, designers and engineers to create a product that caters to this need.
The teams were compelled to produce a knitted upper bearing static attributes for durability and structure. They also refined the precise application of breathability, support and flexibility in a single layer. The result was the Flyknit technology, which is extremely lightweight, virtually seamless and formfitting.
Nike Air Force 1 Flyknit Low Style
The Nike Air Force 1 Flyknit Low is considered the lightest model among all AF1s. Its Flyknit panels are strategically crafted to give dimension and lines that mimic the look of its heritage shoe. The heel tab and the tongue are made of synthetic leather which helps achieve a high-end look. It is best worn with shorts, jeans and pants. It also works with smart casual outfits.
Fit & Sizing
The Nike Air Force 1 Flyknit Low is a shoe for men and women. It is offered from 6 to 18 in men’s sizing and 5 to 12 in women’s sizing. The official Nike store uses True Fit. This platform allows the user to input the info on his/her best-fitting shoe to be able to order the shoe with the perfect fit. It generally runs true to size. The shoe has a support in the most needed areas. It stretches according to the contours of the foot for a comfortable fit. The knitted upper wraps around the foot like a sock. It has laces at the front, allowing a snug fit.
Most people are impressed with the comfort they experience when wearing the Nike Air Force 1 Flyknit Low. All thanks to the combined technologies of the encapsulated Air unit and the Flyknit upper, wearers are given excellent cushioning and breathability. The shoe is also a lightweight package.
