Overview of this review
Updates to Adidas Pureboost DPR LTD
- For flexibility, the carbon rubber outsole on this running shoe was not made to be full-length. Instead, it has a Stretchweb design which allows unchallenging bending underfoot for an energized ride. Traction and grip on common surfaces were improved through the incorporation of tiny circular protrusions on the tread pattern.
- The midsole of the Pure Boost DPR LTD, same as with its original version the Pure Boost DPR is made with the signature Boost foam compound. It is one of Adidas’ prized cushioning technologies that’s made up of small granules of blown up TPU or thermoplastic polyurethane. It delivers durability, flexibility, and sufficient energy return. Also, the Boost midsole was designed to be wider on the forefoot to act as natural support during urban runs.
- The knit upper was Aramis-inspired. Multi-colored yarns were used to make the upper look unique and fashionable, imitating the image viewed from the Aramis machine. Some areas of this part of the shoe were specially engineered for a more adaptive fit and a natural feel.
- The heel part has the Adidas’ Fitcounter. This technology is a molded heel counter that provides a natural fit, allowing the heel to move in a way that’s not constricted.
Size and fit

To get the best fit, it’s advisable for runners to check the size chart and recommendation of the site when purchasing online.
The outsole of the Adidas Pure Boost DPR LTD has a Stretchweb design which is also found in the shoe's popular counterpart, the Adidas Pure Boost. Instead of covering the entire bottom part of the shoe with the carbon rubber material, it was formed into a web-like structure to make way for the easy flexing and stretching of the foot while running.
The tread pattern makes it possible for the outsole to have good traction on flat surfaces. The tiny circular protrusions enhance the grip, preventing runners from slipping and sliding when running on various surfaces.
Boost is one of Adidas’ popular midsole material. It is made of solid granular materials known as Thermoplastic polyurethane or TPU which was blown up and re-molded into tiny capsules. These make up the unique, Styrofoam-like midsole look of every Boost shoe. It delivers ample energy return while maintaining its lightness.
The forefoot platform was designed to be wider to provide better and more natural support during runs. With this design, the stability of the runner is also slightly improved.
The upper of the Adidas Pure Boost DPR LTD was Aramis-inspired. Armis is a motion-capture system that aids in determining the amount of strain caused by different materials. Yarn of varying colors were woven together for the upper to mimic the image produced on the Aramis machine.
On the sides, the three stripes of Adidas were faintly sprayed on for branding purposes. There are no other overlays found on this part of the shoe. However, key woven areas were specifically engineered to provide light support on the foot’s dorsum.
A molded heel counter called Fitcounter mildly reinforced the Achilles heel. This extra structure slightly enhanced the snugness on the heel while helping to, minimally, stabilize it during runs.
