Size and fit
These runners are offered in unisex sizing. The Air Pegasus Racer has quite a narrow fit so it is recommended to go a half or full size up for those with wide feet. Sizing runs small for this Pegasus.
With a full-lace up fastening, a more adjusted and secure fit can be achieved.
Nike Air Pegasus Racer Style
Nike revamps its classic Air Pegasus by boasting a few design updates. The overall profile of this silhouette is constructed with the combination of iconic upper mixes of ripstop, mesh, and suede which gives the old-school trainers a contemporary edge while also providing comfort and durability. Completing the sneaker’s whole look, sail accents along with the midsole, tonal laces, and Swoosh branding gives this rendition a traditional feel.
Several crisp colorways are made available for these classics. There are the basics which are black, white, grey, navy, and blue. The newer ones are in red mahogany, dark mica, and hot lime. All the color schemes have contrasting elements in the clean white midsole and white lining peeking out over the top.
While these were the shoes that were pounded on the pavement, these classic pairs are best for casual wear. For a casual ensemble, one can go for a pair of jeans or jogger pants with tops like shirts or sweater shirts. Also, these look good with sporty outfits, too.
Constructed with a padded collar and tongue, this version of the Air Pegasus is made more comfortable with these features. The full-length Phylon midsole unit delivers lightweight cushioning and also added comfort. The waffle-inspired outsole with cut-outs and forefoot flex grooves enable the natural range of motion. Moreover, the outsole also provides ample durability and traction.
Nike Air Pegasus Racer History
In 1983, the Swoosh brand introduced the Pegasus to the sneaker world, regarded as a shoe for every runner. Like the mythical-winged stallion, the shoe’s Greek namesake it was named after, the model was designed to be half air, for agile movement and flight. Over the course of 35 years, the Pegasus has become a staple for countless athletes around the world.
The Nike Air Pegasus line is always going to be present and important, as it has continually brought revamped versions of the favorite retro runner. In line with that, Nike expanded the nascent line, creating the Racer which offers a lighter, sleeker design for the everyday runner.
The Racer now celebrates 30 years of running history. A modern runner with an old-school vibe, the Air Pegasus Racer is revamped and given upgraded features. It now provides quickness, flexibility, and added cushion for a more comfortable stride.
