Size and fit

The sneakers are offered in unisex sizing. Provided that the SB Gato Supreme is inspired by the original, which is a Nike indoor soccer shoe, they both have the same narrow fit. So it is suggested for one to go either a half or a full size up.

With a lace-up fastening system, making use of flat laces, one can adjust the shoes to a more secure and preferred fit.

Nike SB Gato Supreme Style

Straying from the conventional sneaker, Nike and Supreme go for a soccer shoe silhouette that is both unique and vintage. Remaking the SB Gato, the recent version utilizes Calfskin leather for the upper with a prominent large Swoosh to the side. Also, other parts of the upper are comprised of nylon synthetic leather. Moreover, the lenticular panels in ribbed, mesh material with contrasting colors are found on the sides.

Nike and Supreme co-branding is seen on the insoles and tongue, while the words “WORLD FAMOUS” dress the heels. Furthermore, these sneakers come in a variety of colorways which are in black/Spirit Teal, white/Gym Red, Armory Blue, and Gym Red. Given the style of these shoes, they pretty much go best with casual or sporty attires. One can match the shoes with jeans, jogger pants, or even shorts. As for the top, one can go for basic tees, sweatshirts, and hoodies.

Notable Features

Utilizing a thin Cushlon midsole, the shoes deliver enough comfort to the feet. A mesh collar lining and a tonal insole add to the SB Gato Supreme’s comfort. Moreover, the synthetic leather with triangular patterns make up the bumper and protects the upper section of the shoes.

The heel features TPU materials that provide ample stability. At the bottom of the shoes, a full-length gum rubber outsole with hexagon patterns offer enhanced grip and traction to the pair.

Nike SB Gato Supreme History

Founded in 1964, the world’s leading sports brand Nike was originally named Blue Ribbon Sports by Bill Bowerman, a track-and-field coach at the University of Oregon, and his former student Phil Knight. This teacher-student tandem invested $500 to import Tiger shoes from Japan to sell them in the United States. They then opened their first retail outlet in 1966 and officially became Nike, which the company takes the name from the Greek goddess of victory, in 1971. As the years progressed, the brand also progressed coming up with new shoes in the most updated technology and style. Also, Nike has become more popularized with the collaborations that it has established with some of the world’s known athletes, artists, and fashion designer icons.

Creating new lines and restoring classics from their archives, the Swoosh brand has had several known lines and one of these is the Nike SB Gato. The Nike SB Gato was put on a halt until the shoe was re-launched in the summer of 2018 as a Supreme collaboration. Originally created as an indoor soccer shoe, the Nike Gato also gained a good reputation in the skateboarding world. This updated sneaker features a leather upper backed by a Cushlon midsole and gum outsole.
