- The Adidas Response ST is a running shoe that’s meant for the roads. It is also crafted to accommodate the foot structure of an overpronator. The boost™ technology serves as the medium for shock attenuation and springy liftoffs. A Cloudfoam rail that outspreads to the medial midfoot is responsible for keeping the foot steady and in a neutral stance.
- The external part of the upper unit is made of the cloth-like engineered mesh, which is bolstered by fused overlays. A smooth textile graces the interior chamber, its task being the prevention of skin irritation and hot spots.
The Adidas Response ST has a standard running shoe length, which means that consumers are given a chance to get it using their usual sizing choices. When it comes to width, the available options are D – Medium and B – Medium for men and women, respectively. The semi-curved outline of this shoe’s last accommodates the natural curvature of the human foot.
The Adidas Response ST utilizes a rubber compound to ensure traction over the surfaces. Moreover, it encompasses the entire sole unit, aiming for full protection against the debilitating effects of continued use and abrasion.
The Stretchweb design involves a grid-like tread pattern, with evenly distributed nodes linked together by shallow trenches and thin rubber connectors. Such a configuration welcomes the natural capacity of the foot to bend as it goes through the gait cycle, thus ensuring freedom of motion and surface control.
Just like the popular Adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged, this shoe uses the boost™ cushioning technology which serves as the base of the Adidas Response ST’s platform. The job of this feature is to mitigate impact during the landing phase and enable energized forefoot lift. It only runs from the heel to the vamp area.
A Cloudfoam topsole offers sturdy and consistent underfoot steadiness. It extends to the medial side of the platform, acting as a supportive rail that averts the excessive inward rolling of the foot (overpronation).
An ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) sockliner is put on top of the primary cushioning unit. This add-on offers some more support for the underfoot. It can be removed or replaced with a custom orthotic of the runner’s choosing.
The external part of the Adidas Response ST’s upper unit is made of engineered mesh, which has the texture of woven cloth. This fabric has open ventilation holes that welcome air into the foot-chamber. It also has a lightweight and flexible structure that accepts the natural shape and motion of the foot.
Synthetic overlays are printed onto the sides and the heel. More layers are placed on the medial part to help the fabrics of the upper in supporting the arch.
The inner sleeve is comprised of a soft textile. This breathable lining is tasked with preventing skin irritation and other potentially disconcerting occurrences such as focused hot spots or general stuffiness.
The padded collar and tongue unit are elements of the Adidas Response ST that cushion the topmost sections of the foot, namely the ankles, the heel, and the instep. Also, these shoe-parts are meant to avert in-shoe wobbling or the accidental dislodging of the foot from the interior chamber.
A traditional lacing system is employed in this running shoe. Flat laces streak through discreet eyelets that are reinforced by a synthetic print. This fit-adjustment scheme helps the runner when it comes to customizing the tightness or looseness of the cover system.
