I absolutely love these!
Just a great upgrade over the Lillard 1.
A great shoe that’s very affordable and fits most people’s needs.
This might be the best bang for you buck shoe I’ve ever played in.
Signature shoes should reflect the player and Damian Lillard had valuable input on how his shoes should look and feel. The Adidas D Lillard 2 is the official shoe of the City of Oakland, where Dame learned to play. His rise to stardom didn't occur overnight. It took years of hard work and determination in the Bay Area to become the star that he is today. These shoes tell that story.
The Adidas D Lillard 2 is a major upgrade from the D Lillard 1. It features a Jacquard upper for flexibility, Bounce cushioning for continuous comfort, and a Continental Rubber outsole for extra grip.
Cushion. The Adidas D Lillard 2 features a new full-length Bounce cushioning system. This technology is mostly used on Adidas running shoes and was fine-tuned specifically for basketball. It’s a dual-density foam that provides enhanced comfort, energy return, and impact protection.
The shoes also use Sprintframe and Torsion to support the midfoot and forefoot. These work well with the Bounce cushioning and this whole system provides a smoother heel-to-toe transition.
Traction. The outsole of the Adidas D Lillard 2 is made of Continental rubber with a modified herringbone pattern inspired by Dame’s chest tattoo. It’s a non-marking rubber outsole that provides extraordinary grip on wet and dry surfaces.
Length and Width. The Adidas D Lillard 2 runs slightly long and a little wide. Reviewers recommend going down half a size; however, wide-footers are advised to go with their normal shoe size.
Lockdown. The Adidas D Lillard 2 features a one-piece Techfit bootie, TPU eyelets at the midfoot, and a TPU heel counter. The sock-like fit of the Techfit bootie and support of the TPU heel counter keep the foot in place. When laced up, the TPU eyelets lay sightly on top of the midfoot keeping the foot locked down.
The Adidas D Lillard 2 has 4 upper variants available.
- Jacquard upper. It’s similar to Primeknit and designed to conform and move with the player’s foot.
- Primeknit upper. This is a light, soft, breathable, and flexible material. This edition also features Boost cushioning at the heel area.
- Synthetic leather upper. This is a durable material that adds support and aids with lockdown.
- Knitted upper. This material is featured in the D Lillard 2 Static edition. It’s also like Primeknit but sturdier.
One of the major issues with the D Lillard 1 is heel slip. The Adidas D Lillard 2 has additional padding around the ankle collar that provides ankle support and helps keep the heel in place. This extra padding does not feel restrictive and the mid-cut design of the shoe allows the ankle to move freely.
Dame-inspired details complete the sneaker’s standout look. The D Lillard 2 performs great on-court and can also be rocked casually. With a variety of colorways and materials to choose from, you’ll surely be able to find a pair that fits your needs
For Damian Lillard’s second signature shoe, Adidas launched a wide selection of hues including player exclusive colorways. The D Lillard 2 was also made available in The Three Stripe’s customization platform miAdidas.

Other details include his bib number “733” printed on the tongue and his name embossed on the deubré.
Adidas D Lillard 2 ‘Dame Time’
The Adidas D Lillard 2 ‘Dame Time’ is a nod to Damian Lillard’s ability to take over the game at crunch time. Inspired by his buzzer beater against the Houston Rockets, the ‘Dame Time’ features a tonal red-based upper with a shot clock graphic. The graphic includes “0:9” that represents the time left when he made the series-winning shot against the Rockets during the 2014 NBA Playoffs. Completing the theme is a mint green translucent outsole that depicts the ice in his veins.
Adidas D Lillard 2 ‘Florist City’
In 2016, Adidas continued their annual Florist City collection that takes inspiration from Portland's and Chicago's blooming flowers during Spring. The D Lillard 2 ‘Florist City’ pays tribute to Portland’s famous rose gardens and annual Rose festival. It features a red and black woven upper covered with a rose graphic.
Adidas D Lillard 2 ‘Static’
With this colorway, Damian sends a message to his doubters: it’s just noise. “I don’t need validation – they’ve seen what I can do out there,” he explains. “As a man, I’ve grown to rise above it all and block out the noise. I’ll keep pushing, keep working and soon enough they’ll wake up.”
The Adidas D Lillard 2 ‘Static’ features white and black interwoven threads that deliver a fuzzing static effect. The silhouette is finished off with a black-speckled midsole and oak print accents on the heel counter.
Adidas D Lillard 2 ‘Stay Ready’
Inspired by Damian Lillard’s draft day suit, the Adidas D Lillard 2 ‘Stay Ready’ features a heather grey upper with black and red accents. An icy blue outsole completes the shoe’s silhouette.
Adidas D Lillard 2 ‘Tennis Ball’
These basketball shoes are a throwback to when Damian and his friends used to play games on a tennis court near his grandmother's house in Brookfield. The Adidas D Lillard 2 ‘Tennis Ball’ boasts a felt-like upper covered in fluorescent tennis ball yellow. Damian debuted these sneakers during his Dame Dolla concert.
Adidas D Lillard 2 ‘Year of the Monkey’
To greet the 2016 Chinese New Year, Adidas launched a limited edition Year of the Monkey collection that includes the D Rose 6 and D Lillard 2. Inspired by the Fire Monkey, the Adidas D Lillard 2 ‘Year of the Monkey’ features a glossy graphic covering the black upper. Hits of blue, red, and gold complete the theme.
Adidas D Lillard 2 ‘Yellow Tape’
Prior to the 2012 NBA Draft, Damian Lillard had to prove that he belonged in the league. The ‘Yellow Tape’ colorway pays tribute to the yellow caution tape his personal trainer Chris Farr used to rope off the court during his pre-draft workouts.
“The idea behind yellow tape is that you all see where he’s at today but for us, it’s a reminder of the struggle and the beginning of his journey,” Chris explains. “People need to understand it’s more than just a workout. He was unwanted by colleges and couldn’t play on top AAU teams. He needed adversity to give him a reason to accomplish all that he has. This is how yellow tape began.”
The D Lillard 2 ‘Yellow Tape’ features a textile upper with vibrant yellow and black graphic print. Finishing out the theme are the words “Do Not” and “Cross” written on the right and left sneaker respectively.
