Like the Salomon Speedcross 5, the Contagrip® TA is integrated into the outsole of the Salomon Spikecross 5 GTX. This material is strategically built to provide maximum traction. The grip is essential, especially on rugged, soft, loose, and uneven surfaces.
Along with the Contagrip® TA is the Chevron lugs. These lugs are made from a compound that is described to have a multi-directional and deep penetration grip. As a result, enhanced traction is encouraged on loose dirt and mud. The sharp lugs are significant in balancing both adhesion and durability.
Inserted into the outsole lugs is the Carbide tipped spikes. This component of the shoe aims to ensure that aggressive traction is provided even on surfaces like ice.
Utilized in crafting the shoe is the EnergyCell™+. This technology is described to be a midsole compound that has high- rebound properties. As a result, substantial cushioning, along with exceptional energy return, is offered. This component of the shoe also provides additional durability.
