  • This trail running shoe, the Salomon Spikecross 5 GTX, is intended to provide the user with a higher level of performance during winter. The running footwear utilizes the Gore-Tex bootie. The primary goal of this is to deliver protection, especially during wet weather and snow conditions.
  • Featured in the shoe is the winter Contagrip compound for excellent traction.
  • Along with the winter Contagrip is the 12 tungsten spikes. This component of the shoe adds additional grip to the bottom of the sole. With the use of the spikes,  wearers can confidently finish their race on compact, snow, and icy surfaces.

The Salomon Spikecross 5 GTX is designed to provide an anatomical fit from the heel to the forefoot. The notable Salomon Sensifit technology is added to the shoe to give runners the iconic Speedcross fit.

The shoe is sold in Unisex sizing. Women should go one size up to get the perfect sizing.

Like the Salomon Speedcross 5, the Contagrip® TA is integrated into the outsole of the Salomon Spikecross 5 GTX. This material is strategically built to provide maximum traction. The grip is essential, especially on rugged, soft, loose, and uneven surfaces.

Along with the Contagrip® TA is the Chevron lugs. These lugs are made from a compound that is described to have a multi-directional and deep penetration grip. As a result, enhanced traction is encouraged on loose dirt and mud. The sharp lugs are significant in balancing both adhesion and durability.

Inserted into the outsole lugs is the Carbide tipped spikes. This component of the shoe aims to ensure that aggressive traction is provided even on surfaces like ice.

Utilized in crafting the shoe is the EnergyCell™+. This technology is described to be a midsole compound that has high- rebound properties. As a result, substantial cushioning, along with exceptional energy return, is offered. This component of the shoe also provides additional durability.

Featured in the running footwear is the OrthoLite® insole. This technology is focused on providing excellent cushioning and breathability. It is also meant to deliver added durability to the platform. With the utilization of this material, a high-level of comfort and improved performance is enjoyed by the user.

Keeping the foot dry at all times is the sole responsibility of the Gore-Tex feature. This membrane is essential in promoting a healthy foot environment.

Used in crafting the shoe are waterproof materials. Even when under pressure, it ultimately protects the platform from water and moisture through the upper section.

The Anti-debris Mesh is integrated into the Salomon Spikecross 5 GTX. This sturdy mesh material is significant in ensuring that debris is prevented from being trapped between the footbed and the runner's foot.

The stitch-free upper construction works well with the anti-debris mesh. The primary purpose of this is to provide a glove-like and smoother feel and fit during the running session.

Lying from the midsole area to the lacing system is the SensiFit. This component of the running footwear is essential in cradling the foot. As a result, a more secure and snugger fit is offered.

The Quicklace system is integrated into the shoe. It uses durable and minimalistic laces for easy on and off. This lacing system aims to deliver quicker tightening and loosening.

Along with the Quicklace system is the lace pocket. Salomon added this feature to provide storage to the Quicklace lacing system. By utilizing this feature, the laces are hidden during the running activity.
