Expert Reviews

94 / 100 based on 4 expert reviews

It has a very measured rebound and absorbs a lot of shock, so I would call it responsive without any of the harshness.

It’s been a while since I have really enjoyed a lower stack uptempo shoe for just about any pace I have thrown at it and for flats, uphills and especially downhills. The Optivibe really is effective, far more effective than the original Vibe system in reducing shock and vibration via the heel insert while providing an energetic ride from the main Infuse midsole.

The fit is true to size, and my foot never seemed to slide around in the shoe even running fast. The upper doesn’t have many stiff overlays and seems quite seamless, so the lack of stretch holds your foot in place very securely.

The Salomon Sonic 3 Accelerate slips on your foot very easily and has a very comfortable fit. The midfoot is held firmly in place with the Sensifit system, while the heel counter is a two piece pillowy roll on either side of your ankle.

The Salomon Sonic 3 Accelerate is a lightweight running shoe packed with advanced features that are designed to optimize speed and comfort. It is one of the three shoes that Salomon released as part of its Sonic lineup this year.

Compared to the Salomon Sonic 3 Balance and Salomon Sonic 3 Confidence, the Salomon Sonic 3 Accelerate is manufactured with lesser cushioning. This is because Sonic 3 Accelerate is designed to be the lightest and fastest among the three shoes.

This road running shoe features a brand new midsole technology called the Optivibe™ foam. This midsole material minimizes muscle vibration while increasing shock absorption for a comfortable and responsive running experience. Internal SensiFit™ is also utilized to provide a secure and glove-like fit.

The Salomon Sonic 3 Accelerate is manufactured with a standard shoe length. It features the traditional lacing system that allows for a secure and customized in-shoe feel. Other elements that influence the fit of the shoe are the OrthoLite® sockliner and OrthoLite® Impressions tongue. These components conform to the natural shape of the foot to provide personalized cushioning and comfort.

In the outsole of the Salomon Sonic 3 Accelerate is a lightweight, yet highly durable rubber material. The rubber outsole offers reliable protection and enhanced grip in both dry and wet conditions.

For an efficient heel-to-toe transition, the Geometric Decoupling™ is incorporated into the outsole. This component works with the foot to provide guidance, allowing for a fast and efficient forward transition.

The Optivibe™ midsole is featured in this Salomon running shoe. The Optivibe™ is a brand new midsole technology from Salomon. It is made from a combination of foam materials, which help reduce vibration while increasing shock absorption and responsiveness. This element aims to reduce muscle fatigue to deliver an energetic and comfortable running experience.

A molded OrthoLite® sockliner is used for maximum cushioning and added breathability. The sockliner contours to the foot to upgrade the level of comfort.

Just like the Salomon Sense Ride 2, the Sonic 3 Accelerate features an engineered mesh top for breathability and flexibility. The mesh offers target support, according to the specific needs in different parts of the shoe.

The Internal SensiFit™, which consists of invisible overlays and fabric eyelets, cradles the foot from the midsole to the lacing system. This element gives a secure fit by keeping the foot in place during movement.

Providing added comfort is the OrthoLite® Impressions tongue. It is composed of a slow recovery foam with 50% bio-oil content. The soft tongue compresses to take the shape of the foot over time to create a personalized and comfortable fit. A featherlight collar is also utilized to give comfort around the heel.
