...they didn’t disappoint. It's nice to have the feel of lets say a Sense Ultra while keeping your feet dry. Salomon really knows what they’re doing with the grip on the SLab models. Wet or dry, I’ve been able to run freely without having to worry about slipping.

With the utilization of this external tread, runners are sure to experience a hassle-free ride on wet and dry trails.

Lying in the forefoot section is the Climbing Zone. It is composed of a rubber compound and gripping lugs that are essential in facilitating better climbing mechanics and surface control. The rubber compound is described to be thick while the gripping lugs are aggressive. Traction is delivered by this section.

And just like in the popular Salomon Sense Ride 2, it has the Contagrip sole that features different lugs. These lugs have the proper spacing which provides excellent traction on mud, loose terrains, snow, and rocks.

Midsole

The Carbon Chassis is utilized in the Salomon S-Lab XA Alpine 2. It is defined as the platform design that prevents the foot from wiggling.  As a result, the possibility of lateral or medial wobbling of the foot while traversing the topography is avoided. It is significant in keeping the midsole area firm without limiting the flexibility of the sole unit. Runners will be able to experience the foot's natural movement, especially during the toe-off phase.

Underfoot comfort is encouraged by the molded EVA sock liner. As a result, anatomical support is sure to be experienced by the runner.

Excellent underfoot cushioning is offered by the Dual-Density Compressed EVA. This springy and responsive material is a kind of foam that is sure to last a more extended period of time. It can withstand possible wear and tear.

The molded EVA midsole is used in the shoe. Its primary function is to provide stability. It offers lightweight cushioning as well.

With the use of the Compressed EVA, durability and reactivity are delivered.

Upper

The upper area of the shoe utilizes the Ripstop fabric. This woven fabric is often made using a unique technique. This material makes the footwear resistant to ripping and tearing. During the weaving process, thick threads are interwoven at regular intervals. As a result, the platform becomes more durable.

Easy-on and easy-off are delivered by the Quicklace. This material is described as a minimalistic and robust lace which is essential in providing a one-pull tightening. Because of this lacing system, runners can adjust the fit depending on their preference.

The Sensifit is integrated into the Salomon S-Lab XA Alpine 2. This technology cradles the foot from the lacing system to the midsole area. A more individualized and snug fit is then offered to the foot. Because of the perfect fit, it provides a more secure ride is experienced by the user.

A cushion-like, soft material called the protective ankle pad is utilized in the footwear. It is used to protect the human foot against scraping, jarring and other possible types of injuries during the running session.

Extending to the lower leg, the upper unit of the Salomon S-Lab XA Alpine 2 has breathable protective gaiter. The runner can manipulate the zipper for easy-on and easy-off. This is significant in saving time especially if the user is running out of time or in a rush. This material also aids in keeping debris out of the shoe at all times. It can be opened if the runner wants to have a more breathable foot environment.

The footwear has an internal fit sleeve called the ENDOFIT. This technology is strategically-designed to improve foot wrapping and feedback. It is essential in ensuring that the foot is hugged comfortably in the right places.
