The Salomon Cross Pro is a trail running shoe that is specifically designed to help users move fast on soft and muddy terrains. It is suitable for runners and trainers seeking comfort, protection, and support on steep slopes.
This Salomon trail running shoe features a highly technical sock-like upper that uses a combination of mesh and water-repellent materials. The mesh offers breathability while the water repellant material prevents water from entering the shoe.
For maximum grip and protection, the Contagrip® outsole is used. It utilizes deep, sharp lugs that deliver durability and adhesion. The EnergyCell is also incorporated into the midsole of the Cross Pro for exceptional energy return and cushioning.
The Salomon Cross Pro is constructed with a stretchy upper that aims to deliver a secure and sock-like fit. Other elements that influence the shoe’s comfort and fit are the Quicklace™ system and soft sockliner. The lacing system allows for a customized and snug fit, while the sockliner offers personalized underfoot comfort.
The Salomon Cross Pro incorporates a highly durable outsole that is made out of the Contagrip® compound. This component protects the foot and the rest of the platform from abrasive trail elements. It also delivers enhanced grip even on the most demanding terrain.
The Contagrip® outsole has deep, sharp lugs that boost the shoe’s gripping performance. The outsole lugs provide stability on soft, loose, rugged, and uneven surfaces.
EnergyCell technology is integrated into the midsole of this running shoe. The EnergyCell is composed of a high-performance ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) foam that provides shock attenuation. This material is tasked to deliver incredible energy return and reduce fatigue by absorbing impact and vibrations.
The EnergyCell midsole is coupled with a molded EVA sockliner for added cushioning. The sockliner helps improve comfort by mimicking the foot's natural shape.
The stretchable upper of the Salomon Cross Pro utilizes the 3D Fit construction and Matryx® technology. The Matryx® fabric is weaved in with aramid fiber that offers efficient foot mapping support. It is a patented upper technology that helps maintain the shoe’s structural integrity and stability while keeping the platform lightweight.
The upper also incorporates water-repellent and recycled materials. The water-repellent materials prevent moisture and water from entering the shoe, while the mesh lining allows for continuous airflow. These components are designed to keep the foot dry and cool for an extended period even when under pressure.
The Quicklace™ system is featured in the shoe for easy on and off. The minimalistic, strong lace enhances the precision fit and allows for one-pull tightening. Another Salomon running shoe that utilizes the Quicklace™ system is the Salomon Speedcross 5.
