Considered as the Elite version of the CrazyLight Boost 2016, Adidas shocks hoopers worldwide by offering better materials for the same price as the regular CLB 2016. Using a differently constructed upper and the same responsive Boost cushioning and beastly traction, this shoe offers an all-new experience. If the Jacquard was a treat to play in, wait till you try this!
The external heel cup helps wearers achieve the same heel lockdown provided by the 2018 Nike Hyperdunk shoe model.
Cushion. The CLB 2016 Primeknit has Boost cushioning in the midsole. Although full-length, the forefoot cushion feels much firmer than the heel, giving the shoe a responsive pop during takeoff and a plush strike during landing.
Traction. The shoe utilizes an aggressive herringbone traction pattern on the outsole–akin to that of a tire tread. Continental rubber is used, giving it a thumbs-up for outdoor use. The outsole is dual-density, which means that the rubber compound on the ball of the foot is firmer than the rest of the outsole. This ensures that the shoe can be used on any surface.
Length and Width. Compared to the Jacquard version, the Primeknit version runs truer to size. New wearers can go with their usual Adidas basketball shoe sizing when purchasing.
Lockdown. The shoe offers a one-piece cleatie upper that gives the shoe a sock-like fit. Attached to the footbed are nylon laces that pull the upper and midsole together when the laces are tightened. The Primeknit version retains the external heel cup, neoprene heel counter, and lateral foot cage.
The second release of the CrazyLight Boost 2016 uses Primeknit on the upper and neoprene on its joined tongue. The shoe keeps it consistent with the first release’s Boost cushioning and Continental rubber.
With the shoe’s premium materials, the CrazyLight Boost 2016 Primeknit definitely has a premium look and feel. Pops of colors are added for a pleasant contrasting look. The gray colorway has a combination of black, dark gray, and light gray on the upper. This shoe is good for both on-court and off-court use. The Adidas Equipment logo is placed on the tongue while the Three Stripes are embossed on the heel cup
