Taking inspiration from the Brooks Chariot released in 1982, the Brooks Chariot Heritage is an homage to the biggest selling trainer shoes of the brand and probably the most worn running shoes by runners in the 1980s.
The Brooks Chariot has been praised in running magazines that include Running Times, Runner’s World and Triathlon for its overall stability and support. In the July 1985 issue, Runner’s World survey of their subscribers showed that more men and women run in the Brooks Chariot than any other running shoe.
In time for their 100-year anniversary, the Brooks Heritage line has been introduced in 2015. As soon as Brooks announced this to the public, they began unarchiving two of its popular shoes in the 1970s that include award-winning performance runners the Vanguard and the Vantage. Soon other archived shoes of Brooks were released including the Brooks Chariot and basketball shoe Unique.
The Brooks Chariot Heritage line pays tribute to the original design of the Chariot but veers away from being a performance shoe and instead focused on being a retro fashion sneaker for daily wear.
Shane Downey, Creative Director and Business Manager for the Brooks Heritage Collection said that during their research they came across the most famous shoe in their archives which he calls as the “Crown Jewel” of their Heritage line collection: The Brooks Chariot.
