Combined with a good mix of performance and fashion features, the third iteration of the Adizero Ubersonic by Adidas is all set for the aggressive matches on any tennis court surface without putting too much toll on the foot. This update to the Adizero line is supported by young court stars Alexander “Sascha” Zverev Jr and Stefanos “Stef” Tsitsipas who were spotted in their Ubersonic 3s on the hard court.

Ubersonic 3 vs Ubersonic 2

In contrast with the dual layer mesh on the prior model — the Adidas Adizeo Ubersonic 2 — this 3rd version of the Adidas Adizero Ubersonic is constructed with a precisely woven fiber system called Primeknit that’s inclined to deliver a natural fit in a very minimalistic and lightweight form. Although it is designed to be flexible, Primeknit offers lateral support and is sturdier than the net-like mesh upper of the 2.0.

Cushioning is another feature that was enhanced in the 3.0 version. It comes with a supportive chassis that provides stability when accelerating for the ball. Added to this is a responsive midsole unit that helps to cushion the feet during take-offs and hard landings. Everything on the upper is supported by a heavy-duty rubber outsole which is suitable for a variety of surfaces.

Material. Adidas utilized the proprietary Adiwear 6 in the Ubersonic 3, the same outsole setup found in the 2nd Ubersonic iteration. This high abrasion-resistant rubber compound helps extend the performance of the shoe. It is also purposed to deliver excellent traction on any court surface.

Tread pattern. The toe area has a denser herringbone tread pattern that prevents slippage while the wider edges are meant for easy sliding.

Support. Speed players who are used to wearing tennis shoes with a closer-to-the-ground feel can expect to perform their usual game with the Adidas Ubersonic 3. This subsequent version to the Ubersonic 2 has a slightly flatter sole for increased stability. It carries the same Sprintframe chassis unit found in the preceding profile with a framework that’s essentially lightweight yet adequately supportive during quick directional changes.

Cushioning. The 3rd version of the Adidzero Ubersonic is built with a full-length polyurethane midsole that meant to attenuate impact and shock while giving players a remarkable level of cushioning with every step. To enhance the level of padding, this modified version is made with a beefed-up forefoot and toe box for stability.

Breathability and Movement. Compared to the double-layered mesh cover of the 2.0, the Primeknit-constructed Ubersonic 3 is inclined to breathe more organically while offering a natural fit. Plus, it has better moisture-wicking properties than the mesh upper. The extremely strong Dyneema fibers that make up the Primeknit structure flex well and support the feet during powerful drop shots, sprinting, or sliding.

Lightweight built. Visually, this speed shoe is made with a minimalist aesthetic. Adidas slashed down excessive weight by maintaining only fewer hard casings on this improved version, since the Primeknit composition is made to provide support where it’s needed. Despite the lesser load on the upper, which makes it one of the most lightweight selections by the Three Stripes, the Ubersonic 3 is crafted to be sturdier.

Reinforcement. The toe area and the medial forefoot are toughened by an abrasion-resistant Adituff rubber. This enduring compound help protect the foot from bruises and cuts during toe drags, volleys, serves, and intense lateral movements. It also prevents the shoe from wearing out quickly.

Fit. It offers more space in the forefoot area as compared to the narrow frame on the prior model. Wearers with narrow feet may still benefit from the shoe’s roomy toe box by wearing double socks.

This bootie-made tennis shoe from the Three Stripes-brand is crafted to hold and lock the feet in place for a comfortable glove-like fit. Such structure tends to make movement around the court organic and natural.

  • The Adidas Adizero Ubersonic 3 comes with a lace closure for a customized lockdown fit.
  • Its one-piece upper allows for easy slip on and off.
