Size and fit

The men’s New Balance Numeric 255 silhouette is offered in sizes ranging from 6 to 14. This is not to say that women who like the look of the shoes may not purchase. Typically, women just need to go down a size and a half from their regular shoe size to enjoy men’s sneakers.

While the New Balance Numeric shoes are made to fit true to size, this model tends to run small. A half size up from your regular measurement should get you a comfortable fit. For women, this means just going down a whole size instead of a size and a half.

The cushioned heel cups of the New Balance NM 255 keep the feet comfortably and securely in the shoes without the shoes digging into the heels. Lace closures keep the fit adjustable.

New Balance 255 Style

Skateboarding clothing tends to be loose to allow for movement. However, that doesn’t mean just keeping to simple tees and joggers. You can also elevate your style a tad by wearing brown chinos, a black shirt (nothing so simple as a solid-hued tee please), and a black denim jacket. Pair these with any of the available colorways for the sneakers, except for the white kicks. They’re sure to match well.

The New Balance 255 is available in all black, black/gum, all white, burgundy/grey, and forest/white.

Notable Features

The men’s New Balance Numeric 255 features rubber soles with N-durance technology which, when combined with the hexagon tread patterns, result in very grippy outsoles that will keep you glued to your board. The shoes’ insoles, which are about only 1cm thick, are able to absorb most types of impacts nonetheless and will help protect the feet from bruises.

The suede material of these shoes is super durable and is able to withstand hours upon hours of kickflips and will still retain their form by the end of the skating session.

New Balance 255 History

New Balance first launched their skateboarding division in 2012 and called this the New Balance Numeric or New Balance #. The models under the Numeric skate collection boast of clean lines and technical materials that are geared toward enhancing and boosting a skateboarder’s performance.

One of the shoes under the Numeric line is the New Balance 255. The New Balance 255 is an updated version of the Numeric 254 or, as others call it, the Quincy 254. The Quincy 254 was one of the Numeric line’s best-selling silhouettes and is known for comfort, durability, and excellent board feel.

The New Balance 255 shoes keep the Quincy 254 tradition alive and takes it a notch higher with a much more durable mix of materials that will give you excellent flicks and Ollies and redesigned foxing tapes.
