Reviews from around the internet
The Adidas Yeezy 750 Boost has a minimized construction with ample support and foot protection, including ankle support with its high-top structure. The laces can be adjusted to allow a snugger fit depending on the wearer’s preference, while the zipper closure along the side provides a locked-in and secure fit.
Just one look at the Adidas Yeezy 750 Boost and anyone would know that it is not one of those average sneakers. It is a high-top sneaker with a futuristic design in a high-quality full suede or nubuck upper and Boost sole unit. It fits a bit relaxed on the collar, so its style can be maximized when paired with jeans or jogger pants.
Nike Air Yeezy vs. Adidas Yeezy 750 Boost
Prior to Kanye’s controversial move to the Three Stripes brand, Kanye had a contract with its rival which released the Nike Air Yeezy. Although displaying the same high-top silhouette and midfoot Velcro strap as the Yeezy 750 Boost, the Nike Air Yeezys clearly opted for a more daring approach.
This apparent difference in Kanye’s Adidas Yeezy 750 Boost vs. Nike Yeezy also signifies the rapper’s transition from his late 2000 style to his early 2010 aesthetic - from bold and maximal to basic and minimal.
Styling-wise, the Adidas Yeezy 750 Boost is easier to pair than the Nike version for obvious reasons. Consumers could ultimately decide whether they want a more eye-catching, statement-making everyday ensemble via the Nike Air Yeezy or if they want a more versatile-looking kick to match with more outfit choices via the Yeezy 750 Boost.
One of the most coveted, limited, and hyped sneakers is the Adidas Yeezy 750 Boost. It stands out from the rest of other sneakers not only for a single notable feature, but because its entirety is a total eye-catcher. It has this cleat-like minimized construction that secures fit through a full-length zipper along the side secured further by a Velcro strap closure on top, round rope shoelaces, and a dynamic midfoot Velcro strap. Another distinctive feature is the perforated vamp that allows feet ventilation.
In 2013, recording artist and footwear designer Kanye West ended his five-year collaboration with Nike and started a new one with its competitor, Adidas. The main reason was that Adidas not only allow him to have full control over the shoe designs, but it also gives him royalties from the sales of the shoes.
The Yeezy 750 Boost is the first sneaker that Kanye West has designed for the Three Stripes since the 2013 collaboration’s official announcement.
The first colorway, the Adidas Yeezy 750 Boost light brown/carbon white – light brown, released initially on February 14, 2015, in 9,000 pairs and sold out immediately within 10 minutes. It is a high-top sneaker with a full suede upper sitting atop a white Boost sole. It also features a distinctive dynamic midfoot strap, a perforated vamp, and a full zipper closure on the lateral side. In less than two years, three other colorways of the Yeezy 750 Boost were released in limited quantities and at $350 retail price.
The "Triple Black" is the second colorway for this Yeezy, which was released later in 2015. Unlike the first one, the Boost sole unit on this colorway is in black that matches the upper for a monochromatic look.
The third colorway released on June 11, 2016 - the Yeezy 750 Boost “Glow in the Dark”. It features a light gray nubuck upper instead of suede, a similar light gray midfoot Velcro strap, and a glow in the dark gum rubber outsole.
The last colorway released is the “Chocolate” colorway, which released on October 15, 2016. The upgraded silhouette features a premium, deconstructed nubuck upper that makes the shoe flimsier but easier to wear, and a gum rubber outsole. The gum rubber outsole on this colorway, however, does not glow in the dark.
