Adidas Tubular Invader 2.0 History
Combine the functional and technologically-advanced design of the 1980s Adidas Tubular trainer with the silhouette of the iconic Invader basketball sneaker, and one comes up with a progressive and innovative shoe called the Adidas Tubular Invader.
Initial models of the Tubular Invader featured a midfoot strap that gives the shoe its premium recognizable look. Its successor, the Adidas Tubular Invader 2.0, had its predecessors overall look; however, the brand made a good decision of dropping the straps for this iteration.
Various versions have been introduced since the shoe was launched. Adidas, aiming to keep their loyal followers up to their toes with every release, continue to push their boundaries by making more unique and finer versions of the previous one with an uptick in the price. Fans can therefore expect promising creations from Tubular Invader’s line in the future.
Adidas Tubular Invader 2.0 Style
This stylish mid-cut lifestyle shoe that doubles as a trainer has won the hearts of many fashionistas around the globe. It is an affordable option for those who are looking for luxe yet reasonably-priced kicks.
Adidas ensures to make every edition with premium materials in order to maintain its modern and elegant look, making it suitable for everyday wear. It goes well with shorts, skinny jeans, sweat pants and other casual clothing.
Fit & Sizing
With the shoe’s silhouette inspired from a basketball sneaker, the Tubular Invader 2.0 generally provides the wearer with ample support.
Men’s and women’s versions are available. The men’s editions are offered in sizes 4-14 while the women’s models are available in sizes 5-11. Widths and sizes of this shoe fairly run true to what is expected.
Avid Adidas followers would instinctively recognize the shoe for its attractive mid top silhouette and its slimmed down tubular outsole.
The Tubular technology used in this shoe’s outsole drew its inspiration from the inner tubing of car tires. It gives the sneaker enhanced grip and traction. The soft EVA midsole, on the other hand, provides the kicks its improved cushioning.
- The insides of the sneaker are padded for added comfort.
- Other distinguishable features are the collar’s distinctive cut and the perforated three-stripes on the sides.
- Three models have been released for the Adidas Tubular Invader 2.0 Mens Originals. The earliest edition was released in 2 colorways. It featured an ice blue rubber outsole, a textile lining and two-toned laces. It also has a neoprene heel with a molded TPU Trefoil logo and a suede upper that came in black or clear brown. On the other hand, the other model featured a leather upper with a soft leather lining and a rubber outsole with a milky white translucent heel. The newest edition’s upper was also made of leather, but with a triangle-debossed graphic and a tonal rubber outsole.
- For the Womens Originals, four editions have been introduced. The earliest version had an upper made of pigskin nubuck, a rubber outsole and a mesh lining. Another version had a full grain leather upper and a leather heel with a synthetic snakeskin embossing and a rubber outsole. One model’s upper had a reflective finish and was made of durable polyester fabric. Lastly, the newest version that was released was customizable. Its upper was made of pigskin nubuck. It also featured a reflective heel piece with an open mesh overlay and a reflective tongue logo as well as a rubber outsole with a semi-translucent back rubber panel.
