Adidas SL Loop CT History
The Adidas SL Loop CT debuted the brand's latest color shift technology next to the Xeno, the Chromatech. The CT in the name stands for Chromatech. It makes the upper material expand and contract, which eventually results in a change in color that varies as to how each shoe is worn so that each pair is different from the others.
Adidas officially introduced the Adidas SL Loop CT on May 8, 2015 as the streamlined version of its running-inspired sneaker, the Adidas SL Loop. Aside from the Chromatech technological selling point, the SL Loop CT also features the signature Three Stripes formed through a webbing that functions as well as eyelets in which the rope laces could loop through. It bears the original SL Loop's T-toe, sculpted concave midsole, and rubber outsole.
It was initially made available in three colors (yellow, black, and purple) with geometric webbed patterns visible on the Chromatech textile upper. But in August of the same year, Adidas released a summer collection that includes two new colorways that have a spot-patterned design instead of webbed.
Adidas SL Loop CT Style
One can almost never go wrong with the Adidas SL Loop CT with its impressive, top-of-the-line, and advanced color shift technology combined with one of today's Adidas' notable running-inspired silhouettes. Style it with cuffed jeans or shorts for a sport casual day-to-night look. It also looks fashionable with sportswear or workout clothes.
Fit & Sizing
The Adidas SL Loop CT is a low-top lifestyle sneaker that is available in men's half sizes which range from 4 to 12 in D Medium width. It generally fits true to size. For the ladies who would want to cop a pair, it is advisable to get this in an approximate 1.5 size smaller. The low-top structure of this shoe allows ankle mobility, while the rope lace closure offers a snug and adjustable fit. There are pull tabs present on the tongue and the heel to make the shoe easier to put on and off.
The Adidas SL Loop CT is known best for its Chromatech technology that allows the upper material to shift colors depending on how the shoe is worn. There are also some distinct geometric patterns, either webbed or spotted, on the upper that makes it even more unique, stylish, and definitely eye-catching.
Another notable feature of this SL Loop variation is the webbed Three Stripes that also function as lace loops for the shoe's signature rope lacing system. Further, it borrowed from the original SL Loop silhouette its signature T-toe and concaved midsole.
- Additional comfort is provided through the breathable mesh lining and padded collar.
- Also featured is an EVA midsole for lightweight cushioning and a rubber outsole for grip.
- The SL Loop branding is visible on the counter, while a small Adidas Trefoil logo is displayed on the toe bumper. The heel tab on the tongue also has a minimal Adidas branding.
