Size and fit

The low-top Adidas Sabalo sneaker is a gender-neutral kick that is presented in men's and women’s sizing. This pointy kick has a form-fitting Polyurethane sockliner that provides a secure fit to its wearers. Meanwhile, the textile lining and padded tongue and collar enhance the over comfort and breathability.

Adidas Sabalo Style

The Adidas Sabalo flaunts a slim and sleek profile that works great when used on skateboards or the city pavements. This kick displays a heavy-duty appeal that could withstand board tricks. The upper is made of premium suede with curve details that run along with the entire shoe. This element was inspired by how a shoe looks like when seen through fisheye lens.

Adidas offers this in several colorways. Both the Core Black and Off White hues are seated atop a gum rubber outsole adding more style and distinct look. Meanwhile, the Cream White/Cloud White/Power Red colorway is the newest addition in the Sabalo lineup and was co-designed by the renowned pro skater Diego Nájera.

The Adidas Sabalo looks great on feet when paired with jeans, joggers, shorts, or khakis matched with crisp plain tees. Some can also be spotted using this with their tracksuit or athletic attire for a skate-ready look.

Notable Features

The pointy toe of the Adidas Sabalo has taken the attention of numerous skaters. Several Thrashers preferred this profile as it allows them to control and do their flip tricks and board tricks better as compared to round-toe skate shoes.

Also, many noticed the foxing tape that is extended up on the side of the upper. This design was executed to provide extra overall durability to the sneaker. The foxing tape was designed to resemble how the shoe looks like when seen through the fisheye lens.

Adidas Sabalo History

It was believed that skateboarding was born on the streets of California in the 40s to 50s. It was initially tagged as sidewalk surfing by surfers who wanted to improve their moves when waves were unavailable. During the 70s, this sport turned more popular and the first biggest skateboarding competition called the Del Mar National Championships was held.

Since then, the skateboarding domain has undergone various revolutions when it comes to tricks, boards, and even shoes. Several footwear brands came up with their take of comfortable, durable, and stylish skate shoes that will certainly enhance the performance of its wearers on and off the board.

Adidas, one of the biggest brands in the athletic world, took notice of the sport and established its lineup of skateboarding shoes. It was in 1989 when Adidas formed the Skateboarding project. To keep up with the global competition, the brand commissioned several pro skaters to come up with modern skate shoe designs.

Quite a few iterations were launched under the SB project, and one of the latest ones is the Adidas Sabalo. This model features a premium upper with a durable sole for longer-lasting shoe life. This kick is distinctive from the other skate shoes for its playful take on the fisheye lens, a usual in the skater's cinematography.

The latest addition to the impressive roster of professional skaters under the Adidas Skateboarding project is Diego Nájera. Together with Adidas, they came up with a simple colorway of the Adidas Sabalo. This hue was handpicked by Diego, similar to the Raf Simons x Adidas Stan Smith he fancies. This colorway aims to translate the clean ride of Najera, finished with the red embroidered Trefoil logo and Najera's name on the side.
