- This winter boot yields sufficient insulation and cushioning underfoot, thanks to the reflective liner (outer shell) and the dual-density midsole (inner boot). The Polar Rubber outsole is slip-resistant, enhancing performance outdoors.

Size and fit

Baffin Borealis is a relatively true-to-size winter hiking boot for men. It is manufactured in whole sizes and standard (medium) width only. With its front-lace fastening system, users can customize the fit as desired.

Outsole

This waterproof winter boot from Baffin employs a Polar Rubber outsole. This unit yields traction on almost all types of terrain. The central lugs render multidirectional grip, especially when tackling icy and snowy surfaces. The studs at the sole’s perimeter give a decent amount of stability.

Midsole

The exterior shell of this Borealis boot carries a reflective liner that aids in insulation and provides a decent amount of arch support. On the other hand, the inner bootie uses a bi-density midsole paired with an antimicrobial insole for extra comfort and support.

Upper

The Baffin Borealis hiking boot has an abrasion-resistant external TPU shell. It is a watertight material that has a gusseted tongue to amplify its protection against the intrusion of wet elements.

The body-heat moldable Ultralite system allows its removable inner boot to provide all-day comfort. An elastic band at the midfoot helps secure the foot in place. Also, its heel area is reinforced for added durability.

This Baffin product has a front-lace fastening closure system. It includes a locking hook near the ankle that helps eliminate heel lift, preventing blisters. There is a Velcro strap at the back of the boot that locks the inner and outer boot together. Lastly, a pull tab situated at the top of the tongue assists in on and off. It can also be used even with gloved hands.
