Designed with a woman’s foot in mind, the Adidas PureBoost X TR 2 features technologies that meet the needs of active women. It banks on the success of the PureBoost X TR. It retains the signature floating arch that hugs the bottom of the foot for added support. This unusual design has also been taken to the 3rd iteration of the shoe, the Pureboost X TR 3.0.
The PureBoost X TR 2 utilizes a full-length rubber outsole. This material is durable, flexible, and slip-resistant. It is also non-marking which means it does not leave streaks on gym floors.
The outsole is designed to support multi-directional movements and provide traction on most surfaces. The flex grooves on the entire bottom of the platform accommodate the natural flexibility of the foot.
The pivot disc in the forefoot section is meant to make twists and turns easy and smooth. This structure has minimal grooves that do not hinder the fluidity of movements.
Adidas’ proprietary Boost technology makes up the midsole unit of the PureBoost X TR 2. The Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) pellets undergo a unique process that results in the styrofoam-like appearance of the Boost foam. This underfoot padding is claimed to have better shock-absorbing properties than the traditional EVA foam. According to the company, this midsole has a high-energy return that delivers a bouncy feel to each step.
This acclaimed cushioning technology is also used in the Adidas Pureboost Trainer, which was released in December 2018 and has already gathered a good number of positive reviews.
The Adidas PureBoost X TR 2 employs a synthetic material for the upper. The flexible fabric offers a snug, yet non-restrictive fit. It is also breathable and keeps the inside well ventilated.
Synthetic overlays on the heel and midfoot sections add support and structure to the upper. They reinforce the lacing system and add lateral support to the forefoot. At the back, the structure serves as an external heel clip that prevents the foot from wobbling.
The shoe uses a traditional lacing system with webbed eyelets. The structure allows users to adjust the fit according to their preferences. The round laces pass through a single slot on the lightly padded tongue to prevent it from moving out of place. The tongue protects the instep from irritation when the laces are tightened.
The padded collar locks the foot down and prevents accidental shoe removal. It also serves as a protection against chafing.
Soft fabric lines the inside of the PureBoost X TR 2. It aims to deliver a comfortable in-shoe feel even when users do not wear socks.
The floating arch gives the footwear a unique look. Aside from that, it supports the arch during workouts or walking.
