Updates to Asics Gel Kayano 25 OBI
- The Asics Gel Kayano 25 OBI is a running shoe that’s made for those who have concerns with overpronation. It makes use of the Dynamic DuoMax™ System in the midfoot section to act as a stable foundation for the arch. A high-rebound midsole-and-sockliner combination ensures springy steps.
- The upper unit features a stretchy mesh material that has the texture of a kimono belt. This design entails that the façade is meant to hold the foot securely in place. A stretchy band snakes across the midfoot section, ending in a securing tab that’s secured by Velcro.
Asics Gel Kayano 25 OBI size and fit
The Asics Gel Kayano 25 OBI has a standard running shoe length. When it comes to size, runners can get a pair that follows their preferred measurements. Widthwise, the options are D – Medium for men and B – Medium for women. This product also has a semi-curved shape that mimics the natural curve of the human foot.
The heel section of the outsole makes use of the Asics High Abrasion Rubber or AHAR®. This material is designed to resist the abrasive nature of the surfaces, shielding the midsole in the process. It also provides traction.
The DuraSponge® technology is placed in the forefoot section. It is made from blown rubber, which is slightly spongy. It’s meant to add a bit more cushioning on top of the traction and the damage protection.
Flex grooves allow the foot to bend naturally as it transitions through the gait cycle. The forefoot lift benefits the most from such a design.
The Flytefoam® Lyte is a cushioning compound that’s designed to provide a soft platform on which the foot can rest. Moreover, it doesn’t put a lot of weight on the entire midsole.
The one responsible for providing an energized forefoot lift is the Flytefoam® Propel technology. This elastomer unit energizes the toe-off with its high-bounce nature.
The FluidRide® configuration makes sure that the runner is getting a smooth heel-to-toe transition.
Additional underfoot cushioning is afforded by the Ortholite® X-40 sockliner. This add-on also offers protection against moisture and odor.
The Guidance Trusstic System™ is made up of a thermoplastic foundation in the midfoot section, as well as a vertical groove. These elements work together to lead the foot towards a more effective step.
The Dynamic DuoMax™ Support System is composed of a high-density compound that is placed on the medial side of the platform. This material is created to correct overpronation, preventing the arch from buckling during the run.
The upper unit of the Asics Gel Kayano 25 OBI features the FluidFit®, which is made up of a mesh material that is able to stretch in multiple areas. It’s meant to flex and expand as the foot moves and swells during the run.
The MONO-SOCK® internal sleeve offers flexible and irritant-free coverage. This design fundamentally replaces the traditional tongue unit with a one-piece opening that is reminiscent of an actual sock.
A stretchy band weaves across the midfoot section. This feature is designed to hold the foot in place and prevent in-shoe wobbling. The fit can be adjusted via a Velcro securing tab.
A pull loop is placed on the heel section. This tab helps the runner when it comes to wearing and removing the Kayano 25 OBI.
