Good to know
- The Adidas Pure Boost LTD is a product that’s designed to be a part of the global roster of neutral running shoes. It is also one of the updates to a well-regarded series of footwear from Adidas. The façade is similar to the progenitor model albeit with a twist: A knitted fabric that’s graced with a glow-in-the-dark coat to make it visible in low-light conditions.
- Underfoot cushioning is the responsibility of a full-length boost™ midsole. This technology works with the foot and the ground, attenuating impact during the landing phase then releasing energy for the takeoff. Rubber with a Stretchweb construction protects against wear-and-tear while also providing surface grip.
- The Pure Boost LTD is part of the ever-diverse family of footwear headed by the original Adidas Pure Boost model. The LTD (Limited) distinction pertains to the aesthetic changes brought by the glow-in-the-dark veneer.
The Adidas Pure Boost LTD was constructed using the standard measurements. When it comes to size, runners are encouraged to get a pair using their usual sizing expectations. However, there have been some reviews citing the sizing scheme’s half-size-bigger configuration; purchasers should consider trying on the shoe first to achieve a pleasant in-shoe experience.
Widthwise, the available option is D – Medium. This product is specially designed with men’s foot measurements in mind. Low to medium foot volumes are the ones that are most likely to enjoy the in-shoe wrap.
The outsole unit of the Adidas Pure Boost LTD is made up of a rubber compound that takes the Stretchweb shape. This layer is tasked with protecting the midsole from the abrasive nature of the surfaces. It is also the one that’s responsible for bringing traction into the fold, thus enabling precise steps on the ground.
The Stretchweb configuration has elevated traction nodes and shallow grooves which heighten grip and flexibility, respectively. Such a design is meant to help the natural bending capacity of the foot as it goes through the cycle of transitioning from the heel to the toe.
The rubber compound of the outsole extends to the medial midfoot part of the platform. This scheme bolsters the strength of the foam, allowing it to support the arch and keep it from destabilizing during the run or when idle. It is not an anti-pronation mechanism, though it may help in averting stance-related injuries.
The midsole unit of the Adidas Pure Boost LTD is composed of a full-length boost™ unit. This technology, born from the amalgamation of thousands of thermoplastic polyurethane beads, has the goal of giving an energized performance. It is also tested for bounce-back mechanics and shock attenuation capacities, and both testers and consumers have commended its efficacy.
A thin, grid-like lasting sheet connects the midsole to the upper. This layer doesn’t add any substantial weight, though it doesn’t add anything to the underfoot experience, either.
The upper unit of the Adidas Pure Boost LTD uses a knitted fabric to ensure a non-irritating wrap. A near-seamless construction prevents hot spots and other sources of potential chafing. Tiny breathing holes allow the foot to experience cool and dry coverage.
This road-companion doesn’t have a traditional tongue unit. Instead, it features a double-folded instep part that acts as the shoe-tongue. It is not separate from the rest of the façade, so the interior wall still evokes a one-piece hug that’s reminiscent of many slip-on shoes. This burrito-like structure can be stretched to a point to widen the opening, but it can’t be unraveled or adjusted in any way.
A ghillie lacing system is employed in this running shoe. On the instep are round laces that snake through discrete fabric loops on the sides. These adjustment strands aim to tighten or loosen the fit without putting much pressure on the bridge of the foot.
Extra eyelets are placed on the front part of the collar to allow for extra heel security when needed. The strategic placement of this additional lace-loop potentially improves the quality of the coverage.
A glow-in-the-dark treatment adorns the fabrics of the Adidas Pure Boost LTD. This graphic embellishment allows the shoe to be visible at night, making it eye-catching. It is also a safety feature for those who like to run in low-light conditions, though it does not reflect light from the beams of vehicles.
Fitcounter heel counters are added to the heel part of the upper unit. There are two versions of such a technology: one that is stitched onto the fabric, and another that is integrated into the inner sleeve and reinforced with thin prints. The purpose is to hold the back of the foot in place and prevent it from quivering or exiting the shoe unexpectedly.
