Good to know

  • The Gel Sonoma 4 GTX is an extremely durable trail running shoe built for rugged terrain. It utilizes a waterproof Gore-Tex membrane that shields the user’s feet from the elements. This material helps the runners to head out on the trail even in rainy weather. This improved Gore-Tex upper is now more durable and responsive, promoting a complete lockdown feel and distraction-free run.
  • One of the significant updates is the updated cushioning system. Asics Gel™ technology is made to increase the shoe’s shock absorption performance and cushioning ability. It helps increase shock reduction during the forwarding movement by lessening the impact during heel strikes while allowing for a smooth transition, even the toughest terrain.
  • The Gel Sonoma 4 GTX also features the AmpliFoam technology. It delivers soft cushioning, which allows for better adaptability and flexibility.
  • For better stability on the bumpiest of grounds, the manufacturers have added an improved internal heel counter. It gives additional protection and support to help the feet remain in their natural line of motion. The Internal Heel Counter is also designed to reduce overpronation.

The Asics Gel Sonoma 4 GTX is available in standard running shoe sizes for both men and women. It can accommodate the usual choices of users when it comes to size. It is recommended to try the shoe first or consider the feedback of other buyers before purchasing. The shoe also includes an internal heel counter that aids the fit, particularly in overpronation.

In the outsole of the Asics Gel Sonoma 4 GTX is a molded rubber sole that provides excellent grip, giving the user a secure footing in muddy conditions. The trail-specific outsole also offers firm uphill and downhill traction on all types of terrain. It makes the shoe a perfect running partner, even on the toughest of trails.

Multidirectional thinner lugs are also included in the outsole area to make the shoe tough enough to go the distance. It delivers additional grip and traction on tricky terrain that enables the user to push further in testing conditions. Moreover, lugs keep the foot from sliding backward or sideways when running.

For a more energetic and efficient run, the lightweight and flexible AmpliFoam™ midsole is integrated into Asics Gel Sonoma 4 GTX. This component increases rebound, helping the user achieve greater speed while running. The AmpliFoam™ rubber midsole is also present in other Asics running shoes like the Asics Patriot 10

The shoe also comes with an Ortholite™ sockliner. This component helps enhance the shoe’s level of performance in terms of breathability, cushioning, and moisture management. It makes each run more comfortable by keeping the runner’s hardworking foot stay comfy as they tackle tricky terrain.

The cushioning system of the Asics Gel Sonoma 4 GTX is also made improved by utilizing other components such as the Rearfoot Gel and multidirectional thinner lugs. All these components are working together to provide a better cushioning system to lessen shock during impact.

The upper section of the Asics Gel Sonoma 4 GTX makes use of a highly breathable and waterproof material called the Gore-Tex membrane. This material shields the foot during extreme weather conditions. It allows water to easily evaporate from the shoe, so the foot remains dry and comfortable throughout the day. The open forefront mesh also encourages air to circulate to prevent uncomfortable heat buildup.

The 3M reflectors are also integrated into Asics Gel Sonoma 4 GTX’s upper unit. The purpose of this reflective element is to make the runners visible when running in low light conditions. This element also makes the shoe more attractive.
