Right amount of flexibility

The outsole of the Nike Skyelux is characterized by deep flex grooves in the forefoot, which gives the shoe the right amount of flexibility despite the well-cushioned midsole. There is also a huge vertical groove that runs from the heel to the tip of the forefoot. It helps both with the flexibility and the smoothness of the ride.

The outsole also uses engineered pods to enhance the midsole’s function in absorbing impact.

Improved transitions in the Lunar Skyelux midsole

A dual-density Cushlon midsole foam extends from the heel to the forefoot. As with most full-length midsole construction, there is improved movement from landing to take-off. The two-layered midsole system helps provide runners with responsive cushioning and shock-absorbing features. Nike’s Cushlon foam gives more than average durability as well.

A breathable and protective upper

Covering almost the entire upper, including the tongue, is a very breathable mesh.

Giving the shoe its excellent midfoot hold are the thick Flywire cables that are directly connected to four eyelets. The eyelets themselves are laminated to avoid fraying.

Nike provides an internal toe bumper that gives the forefoot protection and more volume.

The comfort of the Skyelux begins with the very plush collar and interior lining. With a cleatie construction, there is an enhanced feeling of wraparound support and midfoot hold in this shoe.
