-Salomon OUTblast is a tough winter boot suitable for dynamic activities on the trail. Chief among its features is the Contagrip® MD outsole designed for long-term wear.

-Its other features include the ClimaSalomon™ that offers complete weather protection and Thinsulate™ for keeping the feet warm and cozy.

Salomon OUTblast is a winter hiking boot for men and women. The welded superstructure enables the foot to move freely while maintaining a glove-like fit and feel. Meanwhile, the traditional lace-up closure system keeps your feet tight and secure.

A very popular feature in most Salomon boots is the Contagrip® MD outsole which is focused on long-term wear. It’s a patented, non-marking outsole with a high level of durability.

Contragrip is developed to make Salomon footwear suitable for varying terrains, from smooth and slippery surfaces to rocky grounds. This outsole is a result of a carefully balanced blend of high-quality rubber compound, density, and geometry. It has a heel-to-toe offset structure which helps you move quickly on unstable grounds. Meanwhile, the deep lugs offer better grip and protection against sharp rocks and stones.

The Salomon OUTblast uses high-performance EVA midsole that offers dependable support, cushion, and shock absorption. Unlike other midsole materials, EVA is thinner yet highly durable and is more flexible. All these qualities make it easy for hikers to navigate uneven grounds with less effort and energy expelled. The boot also comes with molded  OrthoLite® for added cushion.

Designed to keep you warm and dry in the winter, this hiking shoe from Salomon is completely waterproof. Thanks to the ClimaSalomon™ membrane. This brand-exclusive technology is made of special fibers that prevent water from entering the shoe. Aside from this, OUTblast boots are also built using synthetic materials that are unaffected by water even when under pressure.

To keep your feet toasty in freezing temps, the boot features 200 g of Thinsulate - thermal insulation that is light and durable. Unlike traditional insulation, this special material has a higher density yet smaller fibers which make it more effective at retaining body heat. Moreover, the micro gaps allow moisture (such as sweat) from escaping. In addition to the Thinsulate, this winter boot from Salomon also has a faux fur lining for added warmth and comfort.

The synthetic upper is welded into the sole, so you will find no stitches. Plus, it gives your feet a smooth, glove-like fit. The anti-debris mesh keeps dirt from entering your boot, along with the gusseted tongue. Furthermore, the boot is equipped with a mudguard made of leather and synthetic rubber. It’s designed to protect the lateral and medial sides of your foot.
