Profile of the NikeCourt Air Zoom Zero

Who should buy the NikeCourt Air Zoom Zero

For the first time, the Swoosh label utilized a full-length Zoom Air cushioning in a tennis trainer in an articulated curved format. It is a solid option if you:

  • Prefer a shoe that offers the same kind of heel-to-toe underfoot impact protection found in most Nike Zoom footwear for running, training, and basketball.
  • Need a shoe that has a hyper-responsive design that allows the foot to transition smoothly from the rearfoot towards the forefoot the moment it lands on the ground, minus the unwanted stress.
  • Need a form-fitting bootie upper and the webbed lacing system provide a second-skin feel and maximum lockdown.

Smooth and flexible heel-to-toe transition

Nike attempted to keep it light for this model by carving out chunks of rubber from the middle section of the sole, thereby revealing the Zoom Air unit. Such refined outsole allows users to have better court contact since it promotes a smooth and flexible heel-to-toe transition. Its curved formation enables the user to move naturally.

Excellent grip

It’s designed with an aggressive triangular, gridded pattern that offers the right balance of grab and grip on the hard court.

The rubber material extends over the toe on the medial side, which works as an added layer of protection. Its abrasive-resistant feature helps extend the life of the shoe.

Responsive Composition

The full-length Zoom Air unit is the central feature of this shoe, which is responsible for providing a responsive ride. It is the first time that the brand used a curved Zoom Air feature for the entire tract under the foot in a tennis shoe. Such Swoosh tech is made up of firmly stretched tensile fibers that spring and compress inside the pressurized Air unit.

Comfortable cushioning

Every time the foot touches the ground, the fibers pack together and stretch to their original state to deliver a smooth heel-to-toe cushioning. The snappy response of the Air unit offers a quick rebound feel when pushing for shot after shot.

The midsole foam on top of the forefoot brings the unit closer to the ground while the foam on the rear side brings the air bubble closer to the heel. The Zoom Air is felt directly under the heel during landings. It dispenses the impact gradually from the heel towards the midfoot and, finally, the forefoot area. Because of this shock-absorbing cushioning system, the player can push for the next step after each landing.

Secure fit

The cover is composed of a single-piece, canvas fabric and a stretchy neoprene sleeve that grant a glove-like fit. Its bootie structure can constrict the top midsection of the foot, but it opens up after ample break-in time.

Stable and protective

The ghillie straps on the lateral and medial sides help lock the foot steadily.

The rubberized material is fused on the toecap to protect the forefoot from repeated toe dragging movement.
