Bottom line

These basketball shoes have aggressive traction, balanced cushioning, and excellent lockdown. However, hoopers can get almost the same performance from cheaper shoes such as the Jordan Why Not Zer0.2.

Overall, the Nike Kobe AD NXT FastFit is an excellent performer with a premium price tag. If you want the latest Kobe model and have a couple hundred bucks to spare then, you should definitely pick up a pair.

It's a really good performer, just a little bit pricey. But I think, with the tech that you'll be getting with this sneaker, I think it's worth it.

While the Air Jordan 33‘s FastFit system left me wanting more, the only thing with this version I could complain about is the lack of zonal tightening. With the lacing system being comprised of a single pulley system I can see why targeted zonal tightening is missing. It would be awesome if it was a future feature of FastFit — but only time will tell.

In my opinion, if you're really into looks—I love the way this shoe looks, I rock it off-court. And uh, so that's big for you, and you want a decent performer that looks really really good, uh, in our opinion, then there you go. But, yeah, for $200, with a normal hooper who's gonna put hours in these, uhm, there's a lot of better options for a lot less money.

Would I recommend these? Hell no! Like that price is just too expensive. If you guys love playing in Kobe models and you wanna give this a try, yeah go for it. If you guys got money to blow, I'd say go for it. But, if you guys are being frugal and you wanna save money but also get the best performer for your dollar, then this definitely is not it.

When it comes to performance, there’s no need to talk about how things are on clean courts when having sick traction, yep, this is that time. Fast forward to performance on dirty courts, the 360 FF is ready to bring you beastly bite even under extreme conditions, which you can always find at the 24’s if you don’t believe my word.

The 2019 version of the Kobe AD NXT brings together Nike’s most innovative technologies to address Bryant’s desire to give athletes more court control without sacrificing comfort.

“It is our most technologically advanced basketball shoe we’ve done in the KOBE line, due to the combination of complex components,”  Nike Basketball Senior Creative Director Roos Klein explains.

Built for speed and control, the 2019 Kobe AD NXT boasts a combination of Nike FastFit, QuadFit, and React. The FastFit technology allows a broad range of players to engage with the shoe. A drop-in React midsole offers wearers a low-to-the-ground yet smooth ride. QuadFit delivers support and containment without sacrificing movement.

Cushion. These Kobe Bryant basketball shoes feature a responsive drop-in cushioning that offers a smooth ride. The dual-density midsole is made of full-length React with a layer of Cushlon. This combination ensures a soft and responsive feel at the forefoot while offering stability and resilience under the heel.

Traction. The Kobe AD NXT FF features a new traction pattern that is tuned for indoor courts. The multidirectional tread pattern exacts the height and angles for optimal traction on the hardwood.

Closure. Nike equipped the Kobe AD NXT with FastFit and QuadFit for a custom, conforming fit. QuadFit is engineered to stretch over the contours of the foot for a locked-in fit. Nike FasFit offers a consistent fit with one simple motion. Just step inside, pull up the band, and you’re locked-in and ready to go. These basketball shoes also feature an adjustable strap that locks in the ankle. An external plastic clip enhances stability.

The Nike Kobe AD NXT FastFit features a QuadFit upper that creates a custom fit. The 4-way mesh material is designed to conform to the shape of the foot. Soft padding around the collar provides increased comfort.

With all the tech used, Nike isn’t shy in showing off their masterpiece. “We wanted to show the heart and soul of Nike — our capacity to put together systems," Klein describes. "The design of this shoe shows off all the pieces; the ingredients are critical. We want people to see the elements that work together within the machine."

The Kobe AD NXT FF features an open-hole mesh that exposes the shoe’s interior. Storytelling details complete the silhouette.

These Kobe sneakers are currently available in the following color combinations:

  • Off Noir/Clear
  • Vast Grey/Blue Hero ‘Blue Hero’
  • Vast Grey/Thunder Grey ‘Vast Grey’
