Updates to Mizuno Wave Creation 19

  • The 19th version of the Mizuno Wave Creation uses the modified U4icX in its midsole which, according to the Mizuno, is lighter in weight and more comfortable in terms of cushioning.
  • The Infinity Wave technology in the newer version has been used with improved geometry for better underfoot protection and more flexibility needed for faster performances on asphaltic surfaces.

Size and fit

The Mizuno Wave Creation 19 is a neutral road running shoe. It comes in the standard length for both men and women and it has the standard medium width of D for men and B for women respectively. The shoe is more suitable for runners with a comparatively narrower foot construction.

The shoe uses X10 in its heel and forefoot region for better traction and higher flexibility needed while transitioning between various running positions. The carbon rubber material is also very durable and enables the shoe to perform exceedingly well for longer durations of time. It has been used in some Mizuno shoes and in the latest Mizuno Creation 20

In its midsole, from the heel to the midfoot region, the shoe uses the elastic thermal plastic material. The material provides the much sought-after ‘springy’ feel and a remarkable energy return to the runners. Also, it ensures a well-cushioned ride for the users.

The Infinity Wave utilizes an elastic thermal plastic material placed in a strategic pattern for maximum cushioning and greater responsiveness. It helps the foot when transitioning from the toe-off to the heel strike position while running. The midsole’s geometry was designed to provide increased underfoot protection and higher durability.

U4icX, an even better version of the U4ic in terms of being lightweight and more cushioned, offers a ‘walking on the clouds’ sensation for the underfoot.

The shoe boasts the feature of ‘Smooth Ride’, which is a gender-specific pattern of grooves. The function of these grooves is to minimize the rapid increase or decrease in speed for a smoother heel to toe transition. It also establishes a firm hold of the foot.

The Mizuno Wave Creation 19 is designed separately for each gender according to the needs of men and women. The Gender Engineering uses features such as a more spacious base in men’s shoes as compared to women’s and an additional number of flex grooves in the women’s version of the shoe.

The Dynamotion Fit uses three panels across the shoe’s upper for a snug yet adaptive fit and also for a breathable environment inside the shoe. As a result, the runner’s foot remains dry, cool and comfortably locked down in its proper position throughout the running sessions.

The Seamless Printed Overlays in the middle and lateral sides of the shoe not only feel very soft against the skin but also help in securing the foot in position.

The 19th iteration of the Mizuno Wave Creation uses the Premium Anatomical Sockliner which adds to the shoe’s cushioning. Also, the sock-liner draws off the moisture from the insole, thereby keeping the runner’s feet dry during long runs.

The lace-up closure offers customized fit to the users and locks down the foot in its proper position.

The plush tongue and collar add to the shoe’s comfortability for the user and prevent sliding of feet inside the shoe.

The soft fabric lining inside the Mizuno Wave Creation 19 maintains a very soft interior environment for the runner.
