Good to know

Nike SB Solarsoft Portmore II shoes have a low profile that’s excellent for movement. The padding is minimal in these kicks, just like the shoes’ styling. The uppers offer enough medial and lateral support, more so in the suede and synthetic version.

The lace-up sneakers feature an extended saddle construction that securely locks in the ankles. A regular lacing system customizes the fit.

Dual-density insoles have a cushy feel on top but a dense one at the bottom for impact protection. These can feel a bit too firm, and breaking in will take quite some time.

If you’re a fan of the minimal look, then these kicks may be for you. Nike SB Solarsoft Portmore II shoes blend a modern fit with a basic retro look. The shoes are classical, in a way, and could be versatile. They don’t look too casual as to be restricted to jeans. Chinos and khaki pants will also do for these shoes.

There are several colorways available for these kicks, including olive, black, wheat, and anthracite.

Nike kept the design of the Solarsoft Portmore II sneakers to a minimum to let the comfort and functionality of the kicks shine through. The Solarsoft in the name of these shoes refers to the brilliant sockliners that give the shoes their exceptional cushioning.

The tops of the Solarsoft sockliners, which meet the feet, are soft and cushy for comfort. They have deep cups to keep the feet steady and provide arch support. The bottoms are firm enough to give the protection you need for hard impacts.

The skateboarding line of Nike, Nike SB, was launched back in 2002 when the brand decided to wade back in the skateboarding market after an unsuccessful attempt. The company chose the Dunk as the debut model of the SB line, and of course, we all know how that went since Nike SB is now one of the biggest skateboarding range in the market today.

In 2016, Nike came out with a pair of shoes called Check Solars. These were the first skateboarding kicks to debut the popular Solarsoft technology that the brand had already applied to its different shoe categories. The solidly-built sneakers became one of the SB lines’ best performing models. This led to a whole range of SB Solarsoft kicks becoming launched, a pair of which includes the SB Solarsoft Portmore IIs.

The Nike SB Solarsoft Portmore IIs are basically upgraded issues of the brand’s Portmore shoes. These kicks carry the same design and mostly the same materials, with the exception of the new inclusions—Solarsoft footbeds.

  • Nike SB Solarsoft Portmore II shoes have an autoclave construction that fuses the uppers to the outsoles.
  • The Solarsoft footbeds are removable.
  • The uppers are made of either canvas or suede and synthetic.
