User reviews:

Good to know

Nike SB Air Max Stefan Janoski 2 shoes are designed for men. The shoes have  flexible uppers which stretch to accommodate your feet. The sneakers are engineered to give a sock-like fit while the midfoot overlays and lace closure keep the feet secure inside. The low-cut profile provides ease of movement for fast twists and turns.

These kicks from renowned skateboarder, Stefan Janoski, carry a sporty style that’s ready for the park, the city streets, or wherever you need to take them. The design is a bit more toned down compared to the SB AM Stefan Janoski 1 with their unadorned white midsoles, but it is just as trendy as ever.

Cuffed jeans and a graphic tee will look good with these sneakers for simple days, while a cotton turtleneck and chinos are best for those times when you need a break from ultra-casual clothing.

Colorways for Nike SB Air Max Stefan Janoski 2s include white/gum, black/white/anthracite, light armory blue/white, black/white/cabana, and black/mint, among others.

Probably the most striking thing about Nike SB Air Max Stefan Janoski 2s are the distinctive Air Max units on the heels. The units, made of pressurized gas, are embedded in the midsoles to provide superior cushioning compared to traditional foams while keeping the weight at a minimum. Each step feels like your feet is being cushioned and cradled.

The addition of this remarkable cushioning system to an already exceptional model made famous by the Janoski name has resulted in formidable shoes that are a credit to any sneaker collection.

There wouldn’t be a Nike SB Air Max Stefan Janoski 1 or 2 without Tinker Hatfield’s legendary 1987 creation—the Air unit. First debuting in the Air Max model, the Air unit was cutting-edge technology that was so far ahead of the times.

After the successful run of the Air Max sneakers, Nike couldn’t put the tech into enough of its shoes. (A lot of Nike's popular models have been reworked with Air units in them.) The brand found another opportunity to incorporate its Air tech into its shoes when they launched Stefan Janoski’s new sneakers from Nike’s SB line in 2009.

SB Stefan Janoski Max shoes were quite different from the usual skateboarding kicks because these utilized lightweight textile uppers instead of leather or suede. The Air Max units were placed on the heels, while deep grooves were cut into the midsoles for flex and natural movement. Solid rubber pods gave the shoes exceptional board feel.

  The Second Edition

A decade after the launch of SB Stefan Janoski Maxs, Nike decided to revisit the model and release a second version. They called these shoes SB Air Max Stefan Janoski 2s. The silhouette has remained unchanged, but the uppers have been revamped for a knit fabric. New full-length IP midsoles were also thrown in for better functionality.

  • Nike SB Air Max Stefan Janoski 2 sneakers feature flatter soles compared to the 1s for more stability and grip when skateboarding.
  • This model can be customized at the Nike website.
