Nike Flystepper 2K3 PRM History
The Nike Flystepper was first introduced on Feb 13, 2014, as part of the Crescent City Collection along with two other models, the Air Up ‘14 and the Air Force 1 Low CMFT. All three silhouettes paid homage to New Orleans’ uniqueness regarding food, wildlife, and culture.
The Flystepper 2K3 PRM (or Premium) is an original silhouette that combined elements of the NSW Skystepper and the Zoom 2K3. The model featured strap enclosures made of faux-alligator skin and raised tough synthetic coverings on the toes as a tribute to New Orleans’ kings of the bayou. The perforated quarter panels of the model come from the Zoom Flight 2K3 while the rest of the design takes mainly from the NSW Skystepper. The shoes also had ribbed tongues and a high-cut profile.
Nike’s first release of the Flystepper 2K3 was all in black including the vulcanized sole unit. Barely a month after, the silhouette was again released in a new colorway and as part of a collaboration. The new colorway was called Laser Crimson and had a black body, blue sole, and red collar accents. The collaboration with Gourmet Kickz, meanwhile, covered the shoes with gold all over and added some python touches.
2014 was the year of the Flystepper with many other colorways being successively launched, from Light Cognac to Gym Red and Pure Platinum.
- The Nike Flystepper 2K3 Premium retailed at $110.
- The fabric and style of the Flystepper 2K3 PRM depend on the colorway. Some colorways feature wool-like fabric on the toebox (Flystepper 2K3 TXT White), while some have smooth leather instead(Light Cognac).
