- One of the updates in the Puma Hybrid Astro is the integration of the Hybrid foam in the midsole of the shoe. This technology holds together two of the new technologies from Puma, which are the Ignite foam and NRGY beads. The Ignite foam provides instant responsiveness to the shoe that enhances propulsion. On the other hand, NRGY beads are responsible for added cushioning to the Hybrid Astro to promote comfort.

- PROFOAM is also a technology incorporated in the midsole of the shoe. This technology integrates high rebound components. It also allows added cushioning to the foot to further comfort when running. PROFOAM also features built-in flex grooves at its heel to make transition flawless.

- The Hybrid Astro also features a NETFIT lacing system that allows the runner to have a customizable fit to the shoe. This lacing system also has a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) lockdown that offers support and stability.

The Puma Hybrid Astro is available in standard sizing measurements for both men and women.  The technical components directly affecting the fit of the shoe include the NETFIT lacing system that secured the fit of the entire foot. There were also some synthetic overlays added to some key areas to the shoe to increase protection.  NETFIT provides a personal fit with customizable lace positioning for lightweight upper support. The lacing system of the shoe also incorporates a Thermoplastic Polyurethane lockdown that provides a custom fit and security. This road running shoe also features a flexible heel counter that furthers protection and fit.

Just like other running shoes such as Asics Gel Cumulus 20 and Brooks Addiction 13, the Puma Hybrid Astro employs a durable outsole rubber. It helps prevent wear and tear from any abrasive elements when running. This feature also makes sure that the shoe applies good traction on varied surfaces. The Hybrid Astro also employs a midfoot shank that provides added support. When combined with the shoe’s durable upper, foot propulsion is enhanced.

This Puma running shoe uses Hybrid foam that brings together two new technologies from Puma: the Ignite foam and NRGY beads. The Ignite foam provides responsiveness from the shoe that helps in its propulsion. Meanwhile, NRGY beads provide instant cushioning to the foot. The Hybrid foam is also a dual-density foam that employs both PU and TPU components that promotes high rebound but adds extra weight to the shoe.

PROFOAM high rebound EVA midsole is also incorporated into the shoe. This technology adds lightweight cushioning to the shoe, which makes it more comfortable to run in.

A midfoot shank is also added to the Puma Hybrid Astro for added support for any type of motion.

The upper of the Hybrid Astro is composed of a flexible knitted material. It is breathable and allows unrestrained foot movement. This unit acts as a sock-like fit to the foot.

Synthetic overlays are also strategically placed in the key areas of the shoe to provide structural support and protection. To enhance the fit and security of the shoe, a heel counter is also added. This heel counter is also flexible., which aims to provide additional stability without being too rigid.

NETFIT lacing system with TPU lockdown is also incorporated in the shoe to enable it to provide proper security and fit to the entire foot. This also allows the shoe to have a customizable fit when worn by the runner.

To further enhance the comfort provided by the shoe, a removable cushioned footpad is also featured with added cushioning at its heel area. The Hybrid Astro also has a padded tongue and collar with soft fabric lining to provide more comfort to the foot when running.

For aesthetics, Puma form strips are added at the medial and lateral sides of the Hybrid Astro.
