The well-ventilated mesh upper and lightweight EVA cushioning of the Adidas N-5923 allow flexible movement enhanced by its low-top profile. Also, the lace-up closure increases comfort by providing a personalized, snug fit. Moreover, the slightly padded collar and tongue with the TPU heel overlay adds comfort and support.

The low-top Adidas Originals N-5923 displays a real classic 70s runners silhouette that has been re-engineered for the authentic progressive street-ready look. This sweet throwback look is made of textile upper with mesh tongue to maximize breathability. Meanwhile, the retro take on the Adidas Trefoil branding and the serrated 3-Stripes give a nostalgia effect for its old-school vibe.

This model was unveiled in retro colors. These Adidas Originals N-5923 trainers were covered in pink, core white, core black, navy, burgundy and chalk blue hues giving its wearers ample options when rocking one's gym class or school activities or even casual events on the streets. Its modernized mesh upper with welded overlays gives an upgraded vibe while the leather-like TPU heel cage presents the athletic side.

Following the success of the Collegiate Pack is the Street Pack which was launched in the middle of 2018. The brand introduced four hues such as the white, army green, salmon, and grey, all of which are suitable for spring and summer breaks.

Elevating one's look is easy with the modern retro style of the Adidas N-5923 shoes. With or without socks, this shoe looks appealing when paired with joggers, rolled-up jeans, shorts, and even with activewear. Some style this with clean t-shirts and an oversized hoodie for a sporty, laid-back look. Meanwhile, the gum rubber outsole, Trefoil logo, and the serrated 3-Stripe logo boost the throwback profile.

In 1920, Adi Dassler, a German soccer enthusiast, invented shoes with spikes for the sports track and field.  Four years later, he registered his shoe business, together with his brother Rudolf, and named it Gebruder Dassler OHG which later became known as the Adidas.

During the 1936 Berlin Olympics, the Adidas brothers commissioned Jesse Owen to use their spiked track shoes. Luckily, Owen won 4 gold medals wearing the shoes, and that is when Adidas started to turn famous.

For the Dassler brothers, 1948 was considered not their year. Because of politics, war and their wives, they’ve come away and resolved to separate. Adi registered his company as Adidas, while Rudolf set up another company across the river and registered it as Puma.  In 1949, Adi patented the famous 3-Stripes logo, and five years after, the German soccer team brought home the bacon against the undefeated Hungarian wearing Adidas shoes giving rise to the massive appeal of Adidas around the World.

Since then, Adidas has been unstoppable in releasing multiple silhouettes for various sports. The brand has gained popularity for its high-quality models that could cater to a wide range of followers which later on turned iconic. The modern market has acquired penchant on the archived models which pushed the Three Stripes to unearth some of them while injecting several contemporary elements.

Meanwhile, the 70s was the era when running culture was at the peak which brought the Adidas Originals to come up with a modernized look of the vintage elements. Specific attributes from the collection of heritage features of the Adidas archive was unearthed to come up with a modernized version of the iconic running silhouettes.

  Introduction of the Iniki Runner

The Adidas Iniki Runner or I-5923 was launched in 2017 bearing a resemblance to the vintage runners. Its suede overlays with shiny tongue and serrated 3-Stripe logo take its wearers back to the retro era. The Three Stripes did not claim any specific profile inspiration, but many runners can tell that the Iniki has traces of the Nike Tailwind and Adidas Trax.

The re-launched version of the Iniki Runner has OG design that sits on top of a modern single-piece sole. It was introduced in five colorways, such as collegiate navy, red/gum, mystery red, running white, and vista grey, all with a full-length Boost midsole and a rubber outsole that is either made of gum, black, or red hues. In late 2017, the brand presented another model that resembles the aesthetics of the Iniki Runner.

  The Iniki Runner renamed

In November of 2017, Adidas renamed the Iniki Runner into Adidas I-5923 drawing the name from the archived silhouette called Mercury, which bears a shelf number F-5923. The brand was forced to drop the Iniki name due to legal issues. Aside from the name, this model has remained unchanged keeping all the modern elements with retro style in numerous colorways.

The unveiling of the Adidas Originals N-5923

Before 2017 ended, the brand unveiled another follow up to the Iniki series and named it the N-5923. It bears an almost similar technical-sounding name like the I-5923 and displays a remarkably same profile as the Adidas Iniki Runner. It has the running shoe style with the streamlined look with welded overlays. The brand used TPU heel inserts for added support. Instead of copying the Boost midsole of the Iniki, the N-5923 opted for the traditional EVA midsole cushioning.

The Adidas men’s and women’s N-5923 sneaker was launched in a Collegiate Pack in December 2017, dressed in six retro colors covered with breathable textile with a mesh tongue. Several colorways were unveiled after including the Street Pack which was introduced in 2018.

  • The Adidas Originals N-5923 sneakers weigh 312 grams.
  • This model has a printed iconic serrated Three-Stripe logo on the sides.
  • The vintage Trefoil logo is found on the heel tab and tongue.
  • This shoe's midsole is made of EVA for lightweight cushioning.
  • The textile lining enhances comfort.
  • The durable rubber outsole is for enhanced traction.
