Good to know
First released as a low, the mid-top version features the same techs as its predecessor such as the Air Max 180 unit at the heel, herringbone and diamond pattern tread combo, and Flywire on the midfoot. This time, however, ankle protection is an added value.
Cushion. The Air Max Infuriate Mid features an Air Max 180 unit at the heel, providing optimal impact protection for the player. This technology calls for a large-volume polyurethane pouch filled with dense gases, inserted into the heel part of the midsole.
A Phylon midsole houses the Air unit, thinning out into the forefoot to provide the shoe responsiveness and court-feel. The shoe’s base is wide while an added outrigger helps with the footwear’s stability.
Traction. As with the low-top version, the Nike Air Max Infuriate Mid has a widely-spaced herringbone pattern on the outer sides of the forefoot, and a diamond pattern from the inner forefoot to the heel. The outsole rubber is safe for both outdoor and indoor use.
Length and Width. The shoe fits true to size. However, there is extra volume at the Max Infuriate’s forefoot and the upper material is able to stretch. Hence, wide-footers can be accommodated. For narrow-footers, you may want to go half a size smaller.
Lockdown. Secure lockdown is achieved through the shoe’s Flywire, padded collar, and snug upper. The midsole also helps as it extends past the heel to form an external heel cup. These features work together to ensure no movements within the shoe.
The shoe’s upper utilizes a lightweight textile mesh with fuse overlays. Flywire is integrated into the Max Infuriate Mid’s lacing system. A flexible Phylon foam and the Air Max 180 unit make up the shoe’s midsole. And depending on the model, either a translucent or a solid rubber is used on the outsole.
The Nike Swoosh is found on the outsole, the medial forefoot, and the lateral heel. On the tongue is an “Air Max Infuriate” callout.
These Nike basketball shoes are simple enough to rock on and off the court. They are available in two main colors: black and white. However, there are other colorways that play with these two colors.
