Updates to Adidas Vengeful

  • Adidas introduces a less expensive shoe that rather resembles a few of its heavily-cushioned shoes using the Boost midsole foam. In the Vengeful, runners get the same excellent and responsive cushioning without some of the proverbial bells and whistles of its pricier cousins.
  • A mesh that is filled with countless holes guarantees a very breathable run. The mesh is part of the seamless upper construction that is sure to limit the chances of painful blisters or even hot spots.
  • Although a neutral shoe, Adidas uses a dense EVA on the medial side for a supportive run. Adidas uses this wedge of foam to support the runner during daily trainings.
  • The outsole delivers optimal ground contact and covered with proprietary durable carbon rubber from Adidas.

Size and fit

The standard fit of the Adidas Vengeful should be music to the ears of a large majority of runners. It also gives runners adequate heel and midfoot support for low-mileage runs. The forefoot has sufficient room for the toes to splay and for mid-run swelling. It runs true to size.

Adidas’ unique Stretchweb outsole layout is utilized in the underfoot of the Vengeful. The outsole uses tough carbon rubber in the heel and other areas while blown rubber covers the rest of the way for additional traction. With circular pods populating the outsole from heel to toe, ground contact is quite good for stability and smooth transitions.

The Boost midsole starts from the heel to just beneath the metatarsals. An extra slice of this foam is located just beneath the big toe for responsiveness during toe-off. The Boost provides excellent bounce back features and is extremely durable. It even performs very well, even when the miles add up. This midsole material is also present in the Adidas Pure Boost running shoe.

Adidas’ StableFrame uses a moderately-sized soft EVA on the outer side of the shoe while a slightly stiffer version of this foam covers the inner part. The stability of the shoe is enhanced by this midsole design.

The upper of this reliable road running shoe is large Air Mesh all over for superb shoe ventilation. There are very thin printed overlays on both sides of the shoe, particularly around the eyelets. On the medial side, a printed overlay extends to the forefoot and towards the bonded toe protection. It gives the upper on the forefoot a little more structure. The ankle collar has decent padding with light cushioning in the tongue. Adidas provides flat laces to tie up the fit.
