The unit noticeably extends in the front forming a bumper that protects that toes and to the sides (in selected areas) to create additional support to the midsole. On the rear end is a tread pattern that delivers braking power when walking downhill.
Comfortable and shock-absorbing cushioning
The Terrex AX2R GTX features an EVA midsole for lightweight, adequate, and long-term cushioning. Adidas also added its Adiprene elastic foam material which absorbs shock and decreases the pressure felt by the foot.
Provides cushioning and comfort while protecting the foot from injuries
It provides cushioning and comfort while protecting the foot from injuries. It is strategically placed in the heel section, creating a soft landing. A molded sock liner cradles the foot for additional underfoot comfort.
Waterproof and secure fit
The Terrex AX2R GTX comes with a water-resistant upper made of lightweight tightly-knit textile, webbing, and synthetic components. This material gives coolness and comfort while securely hugging the foot. It is lined with Gore-Tex to block intrusions of wet elements and expel moisture from the inside.
Easy to wear
The shoe also features a protective toe rand that helps resist abrasions. The front closure consists of combination eyelets, three of which are connected to the overlays that form the signature three stripes. A heel pull tab also allows for an easy on and off.
