  • The Terrex AX2R GTX also comes with the brand's Traxion outsole. The lug pattern is designed to grip on various trail conditions including wet surfaces.

Size and fit

The Adidas Terrex AX2R GTX is a low-cut shoe that features a standard, lace-up closure for a customized fit. It is offered in regular lengths and medium width for both men and women. This shoe runs fairly true to size.

Outsole

The Adidas Terrex AX2R GTX is equipped with Adidas’ Traxion outsole for multi-directional grip on rugged trails. The unit noticeably extends in the front forming a bumper that protects that toes and to the sides (in selected areas) to create additional support to the midsole. On the rear end is a tread pattern that delivers braking power when walking downhill.

Midsole

The Terrex AX2R GTX features an EVA midsole for lightweight, adequate, and long-term cushioning. Adidas also added its Adiprene elastic foam material which absorbs shock and decreases the pressure felt by the foot. It provides cushioning and comfort while protecting the foot from injuries. It is strategically placed in the heel section, creating a soft landing. A molded sockliner cradles the foot for additional underfoot comfort.

Upper

The Terrex AX2R GTX comes with a water-resistant upper made of lightweight tightly-knit textile, webbing, and synthetic components. This material gives coolness and comfort while securely hugging the foot. It is lined with Gore-Tex to block intrusions of wet elements and expel moisture from the inside.

The shoe also features a protective toe rand that helps resist abrasions. The front closure consists of combination eyelets, three of which are connected to the overlays that form the signature three stripes. A heel pull tab also allows for an easy on and off.

Additional Info

  • This product also comes in a version without a waterproof liner: the Adidas Terrex AX2R.
