This is designed to go fast
I still love this shoe in a lot of ways. It’s a burner on the trails. The upper is super snug...
Let’s just all admit that Nike has been killing it with their trail shoe colorways the past two seasons. This aura/mint design on the first wave of the 2020 models may be my favorite to date.
The 6th edition of the Nike Zoom Terra Kiger is specifically designed for off-pavement adventures or running on technical terrains. It features a lightweight structure and sleeker look that give a fast and efficient running experience.
The manufacturers incorporated an aggressive lug pattern underfoot to ensure that mud and rocks won’t be a problem when running over challenging surfaces.
This Nike trail running shoe utilizes an improved mesh top that offers a more secure fit and better protection against the elements. The tip overlays have been reduced to minimize the hot spots in the toe box area. It also features an adjusted forefoot shape with isolated front eyelets for a more supportive and snugger fit.
Just like its predecessor, the Nike Air Zoom Terra Kiger 5, this updated version combines the Zoom Air® unit and Nike React technology in the midsole. These materials are responsible for providing a smooth and responsive ride.
The standard sizing measurement was used during the conception of the Nike Terra Kiger 6. Consumers are welcome to get a pair in their usual sizing preferences. However, it is recommended to try the shoe in-store or utilize the general feedback about sizing before making a purchase decision to ensure a perfect fit.
The technical components that affect the comfort around the shoe include the midfoot lacing system, which offers a secure and adjustable fit. Another element is the padded tongue that helps deliver a snugger and more comfortable in-shoe feel.
Multidirectional traction lugs are incorporated into the heel and forefoot sections for enhanced grip on descents and ascents. This element is made from high-abrasion rubber that offers durability and protection against sharp objects and uneven surfaces.
Complementing the rubber outsole is a sticky rubber pod that is positioned in the midfoot section. This component provides excellent traction on muddy or wet ground.
This Nike running shoe uses a full-length React foam midsole, which aims to deliver a smooth and comfortable ride over rocky terrain and hard-packed trails. Nike React technology is made out of a soft and responsive cushioning compound, providing excellent shock absorption without compromising energy return.
The React foam is also coupled with the Zoom Air® unit that is placed in the heel area. The Zoom Air® unit is composed of low-profile pressurized air pockets that offer responsive cushioning. A padded insole is also included for all-day comfort.
Protecting the foot from rough surfaces is a segmented rock plate that is infused in the midsole. It offers reliable protection and durability without sacrificing flexibility.
Similar to the well-known Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 36, the Nike Air Zoom Terra Kiger 6 also features a mesh top for breathable coverage. Mesh is a soft and lightweight fabric that offers ample airflow, keeping the foot dry and cool for an extended period. The upper allows for continuous ventilation while preventing the small rocks, debris, mud, and moisture from getting inside the shoe.
The manufactures also include a breathable lining for enhanced ventilation. The soft shoe lining offers extra comfort and protects the foot from irritation caused by rubbing.
Textile materials and synthetic overlays are included in high-stress areas of the upper for structural integrity and support. Asymmetrical skins are also placed in the toe section for added protection and durability.
An updated collar is used to provide comfort around the heel. A padded tongue is also utilized to help relieve the pressure that is caused by foot swelling over long runs.
An improved midfoot lacing system with reinforced loopholes is integrated into this running shoe. The shoelaces offer a secure and personalized in-shoe feel by allowing the user to easily adjust the fit around the shoe.
