The Nike Air Max 1 LX is a low-top, running-inspired sneaker with sizes available for the ladies from US 5 to 12 in B Medium or Standard width. Fret not about getting a fit that’s too tight or too loose as this shoe also offers half sizing. Also, it generally fits true to size.
The low-top built of this shoe permits flexibility on foot without sacrificing sufficient support and protection. The lace-up closure is adjustable and can be customized depending on the wearer’s preference. A tongue loop tab is also in place, which helps in keeping the tongue from slipping to the sides. The collar is well-padded for added in-shoe comfort.
This women-exclusive Nike Air Max 1 shoe is a premium upgrade to the classic and iconic Air Max 1 silhouette from 1987. Fit for ladies on-the-go, it has this stylish and fashion-forward flair that never holds back while still giving the nod to its ‘80s classic heritage.
A strong and diverse lineup of colorways is being offered for the AM1 Lux casual shoe. The Just Do It release in vibrant orange, for one, is a great shoe to strut if you want to give a pop of eye-catching color to your outfit. Or there’s the toned down peachy-like Guava Ice colorway if you want a more subdued and soft addition to your wardrobe.
This version of the first Air Max shoe may look too familiar to you – retro styling, lace-up closure, large Swoosh side branding, and of course the Air bubble in the heel. However, beyond its well-known features and aesthetic is an essential upgrade that makes the classic silhouette much better. The LX in the name of the Nike Air Max 1 LX means only one thing, and that is "lux." This rendition is an upgraded AM1 with lux or premium materials that further elevates the original.
In 1987, Nike introduced the revolutionary Air cushioning technology that since then has changed the sneaker world forever. It made a debut through the renowned Air Max 1 shoe – the shoe that served as a catalyst to the formation of the legendary Air Max line from the Swoosh brand.
The Nike Air Max 1 was designed by no other than the architect-turned-sneaker designer Tinker Hatfield with the help of developer Mark Parker. The Centre Georges Pompidou building in Paris inspired its distinguishable signature façade. Like any other icon from Nike, the AM1 received countless colorway and variation releases throughout the years.
One of the many modern-day, contemporary renditions of the AM1 is the Nike Air Max 1 LX shoe. It is a women’s only release with upgraded materials for a lux (hence the “LX” in the name”) appeal. On June 28, 2018, Nike released one of the most popular colorways of this lux version, the Nike Air Max 1 LX Just Do It or the Nike Air Max 1 JDI. The shoe comes in either white or orange color and features the signature “Just Do It” tagline in its original 1988 font and graphics. It also comes with a commemorative rubber keychain.
The Nike WMNS Air Max 1 LX also comes in other notable colorways, such as the “Guava Ice,” “Elegant Grey,” and “Oil Grey” among others.
- The Nike Air Max 1 LX is customizable via NikeID.
- The shoe also features a leather, synthetic or fabric upper for increased comfort, a foam midsole with Max Air cushioning unit for a lightweight ride, and a rubber waffle-inspired outsole for optimum traction.
