I didn't really enjoy playing in it because the traction wasn't on pointe.
If you’re a lighter low-profile guard and you can get past the sketchy indoor traction, this might be a solid option anyway.
Known for its aesthetically appealing offers, Jordan Brand surely did not disappoint with the Fly Unlimited. This shoe sports a slim form. Its light textile and mesh upper is bathed in two colors that artfully contrast with each other. The upper material is also commended for the comfort and support that it brings.
Technology-wise, this shoe has Phylon and Zoom in the midsole. The rubber outsole features a unique multidirectional pattern. The ankle strap that offers additional lockdown is as good as the forefoot strap of the nicely reviewed 11th Chris Paul Jordan shoe.
Cushion. The cushioning setup of the Jordan Fly Unlimited is composed of a Phylon carrier and a Zoom Air unit at the forefoot. The fact that Phylon is one of Nike’s go-to midsole material speaks a lot about its responsiveness. The Zoom Air unit is of course one of the more recent cushioning breakthroughs that have earned the respect and preference of many athletes from all over the globe.
It is said that this cushioning setup is great for quick guards who are going to be very appreciative of the pronounced court feel that it provides.
Traction. The sticky rubber outsole endows the shoe with extra durability. It features a unique tread pattern composed of short vertical nubs that are arranged in such a way that they form cascading waves all over the outsole. This provides multidirectional traction.
Length and Width. It is said that the Jordan Fly Unlimited is true to its reported length. However, it may run too narrow that even those with normal-sized feet will have a hard time using it. New buyers must be careful when ordering a pair of these Jordan basketball shoes, especially from online retailers.
Lockdown. The Fly Unlimited from the Jordan Brand is designed to have a full-bootie construction to ensure a one-to-one fit. A secure lockdown is further ensured by its use of the traditional lacing system and a wraparound strap. It also has a large outrigger and a fairly effective internal heel counter.
The upper is largely made of a kind of textile that feels like soft comfortable mesh. The textile is reinforced with fuse so that it will be able to hold its shape. Completing the wearer’s experience of comfort is the Phylon underfoot and the generously padded mesh that the integrated tongue and ankle collar are made of.
The textile upper of the Jordan Fly Unlimited gives it its aesthetically pleasing slimness. It has an integrated tongue that visually pops out because its color artfully contrasts with color of the rest of the shoe. The brand’s Jumpman logo sits prominently on the rear lateral side of the shoe.
The Jordan Fly Unlimited initially debuted in basic black, red, blue, and white colorways. The upper features a subtle glitch pattern. A few months later, Jordan released another look for the Fly Unlimited.
Jordan Fly Unlimited Striped Pattern Pack
The Jordan sneaker is inspired by the “Dazzle” pattern very much popular during World War I where warships were painted with intersecting geometric lines, making the distance and direction of the ships hard to distinguish by the enemy’s submarines. Three colorways sported the look:
