What it's like to work at RunRepeat

  • A ton of flexibility. No rules about when you work as long as you do your job. No 9 am to 6 pm. Do whatever works for YOU.
  • We have minimal bureaucracy yet high autonomy. At RunRepeat, you OWN your work. There are no deadlines other than those you set yourself.
  • Barely any meetings.
  • You get to run in and test a huge variety of shoes in our lab.
  • We're a small team of 13 people who have been at RunRepeat for 6.9 years on average - apparently it's not so bad here after all.

The job positions

(1) Head of content

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of around ten content writers, photographers, and videographers. Set clear expectations, provide useful feedback, and help people grow.
  • Set editorial priorities and quality standards across our website and social channels, ensuring our content is accurate, engaging, and useful to runners.
  • Identify potential holes regarding the team and lead recruitment, from defining the role to selecting the right candidate.
  • Represent RunRepeat at running events and visit brands and manufacturers. Expect around 10 travel days per year.
  • Collaborate with our lab and other team members on our footwear testing services, helping brands develop better shoes. You'll also meet with engineers in their labs.
  • Contribute hands-on to writing and other content work.

The ideal candidate:

  • Native-level English.
  • You've done several marathons or ultras.
  • Knows running shoes well, either through experience in running, YouTube content, footwear R&D background, or because of a relevant degree (e.g., in mechanical engineering or biomechanics).
  • Has management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of content creation for both our web and social media.
  • A significant understanding of running communities and the debates that interest them.

(2) Social media manager

Main responsibilities:

  • Own our social media strategy and publishing schedule across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and other relevant channels.
  • Develop ideas for short- and long-form content, connecting lab findings, running shoes, and community discussions with stories runners want to hear or watch.
  • Write scripts with clear hooks, engaging storytelling, and accurate explanations of our findings.
  • Work with content creators and videographers to develop concepts and turn scripts into finished content.
  • Build a dedicated community by responding to comments, joining relevant discussions, and bringing our audience's questions into future content.
  • Track and report our performance. Use the results to understand what works, test new approaches, and improve future content.

The ideal candidate:

  • Native-level English.
  • You've run for 3+ years and have consistently been running +40 km/week.
  • Knows running shoes well, either through experience in running, YouTube content, footwear R&D background, or because of a relevant degree (e.g., in mechanical engineering or biomechanics).
  • A significant understanding of running communities and the debates that interest them.
  • Has experience growing social media accounts, or substantial relevant experience at an agency.
  • Strong scriptwriting and storytelling skills for both short- and long-form content.
  • You can write the perfect hook.
  • Can turn technical lab findings into accurate, engaging stories that runners understand and want to hear or watch.
  • Comfortable interpreting performance data, explaining why content succeeds or fails, and deciding what to try next.
  • Experience building a dedicated community and working closely with content creators and videographers.
  • Understands running communities well enough to identify the questions and debates worth turning into content.

(3) Content writer

Main responsibilities:

  • Run in and evaluate running shoes, combining your real-world experience with findings from our independent lab tests.
  • Write detailed, engaging running shoe reviews in English, explaining how each shoe performs and who it is best suited to.
  • Turn technical measurements into clear, practical explanations that help everyday runners choose the right shoes.
  • Contribute to discussions about lab equipment, calibration protocols, and new testing methodologies.
  • Depending on your interests and skills, contribute to social media, other footwear categories such as hiking, gym, basketball, or tennis, and other projects that support our objectives.

The ideal candidate:

  • Native-level English.
  • You've done several marathons or ultras.
  • Knows running shoes well, either through experience in running, YouTube content, footwear R&D background, or because of a relevant degree (e.g., in mechanical engineering or biomechanics).
  • Has a significant understanding of running communities and the debates that interest them.
  • Comfortable interpreting lab data, spotting inconsistencies and explaining findings.
  • Is not afraid to take a critical, independent approach when it comes to reviewing products, with the confidence to describe a shoe’s weaknesses as clearly as its strengths.
  • Strong attention to detail, plus the ability to organise your own work and produce thorough reviews efficiently.

(4) Footwear engineer

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop new methods for measuring footwear performance, including material, mechanical, kinematic and biomechanical approaches when relevant.
  • Establish calibration procedures and check equipment performance.
  • Evaluate new testing equipment and work with suppliers to improve or adapt our test setups.
  • Contribute to our footwear testing services, helping brands investigate product performance and develop better shoes. Meet with brand engineers and R&D teams. Expect around 5 travel days per year.
  • Alongside test development and calibration, spend a substantial part of your time analysing lab data and creating content that helps runners understand and compare shoes.

The ideal candidate:

  • Native-level English.
  • You've run for 3+ years and have consistently been running 40+ km/week.
  • Hands-on experience in a footwear testing lab or R&D team, ideally working with running shoes.
  • You can demonstrate test methods or experimental setups you have developed, improved, or validated.
  • Comfortable working with lab equipment, analysing data, and investigating unexpected results.
  • Can explain technical findings clearly to lab colleagues, content creators and brand engineers, including the limits of what a test can state.
  • Experience with kinematic or biomechanical testing is a plus!
  • Practical experience carries more weight than formal qualifications. A background in mechanical engineering, materials science or biomechanics is an extra.
  • Enjoys combining hands-on engineering with data analysis, writing, and content creation.
  • Strong written English, with the ability to make technical findings clear and engaging for everyday runners.
  • Can identify interesting patterns, comparisons, and stories in our lab data and turn them into useful content ideas.
