Updates to Reebok CXT TR

  • The Reebok CXT TR borrows its design from the brand’s first cross-training shoe. This model has been updated with modern elements such as the suede/leather upper that offers support and sturdiness.
  • The injection molded ethylene-vinyl acetate (IMEVA) foam provides shock absorption. It is also responsive, allowing the foot to be ready to twist, turn and jump with every step.
  • The trainer uses a rubber outsole. This compound is intended to provide traction on various surfaces such as concrete, gym floors, and even on grass.

Size and fit

This workout trainer from Reebok caters to male athletes and is available in US half and full sizes, from 7 to 14. For the width, the shoe only comes in a standard width, which is a D - Medium profile. The suede upper is not stretchy, offering a locked-down fit.

Outsole

A full-length gum rubber lines the bottom of the Reebok CXT TR. This material is designed to endure abrasion from rough surfaces. The pill tread pattern enhances the multidirectional grip of the rubber. The outsole also extends to the front to protect the toe box during burpees and sled pushes.

Midsole

The IMEVA foam sports a low-profile construction, granting support and stability to the Reebok CXT TR. It is also intended to reduce the shock traveling from the foot to the legs with each step.

Upper

Holding the foot in place is the suede or leather upper, depending on the model. These materials are not as soft and pliable as mesh, but still allow movement and offers more support compared to soft fabrics. The upper has perforations throughout the vamp to help regulate the temperature inside.

It has suede/leather overlays on the toe box and the eyestay to protect against abrasion associated with workouts. They also form a wrap around the back, locking the rubber external heel counter in place to keep the foot steady during rapid movements.

The interior is lined with a soft mesh fabric. This material promotes aeration of the inside as well as delivering a comfortable in-shoe experience. The plush collar and tongue contribute to the cozy fit while also preventing accidental shoe removal.

Additional Info

  • There is another version of the Reebok CXT — the CXT TR - Nylon Pack. They share the same silhouette, but the difference lies in the material used on the upper. While the CXT TR sports a suede and leather upper (depending on the color option), the CXT TR - Nylon Pack features a nylon textile top.
