- As its name implies, the Reebok Driftium is designed for drifting—that is, more suitable for long miles rather than fast paces. The Driftium offers the perfect combination of cushioning and durability that allows for comfort and longevity during tough runs; it is a neutral running shoe that is ideal for cardio workouts.
- Despite its simple appearance, the Reebok Driftium is packed with functionality to help the runner effortlessly log on the miles. Its features include a high-abrasion rubber outsole, a highly-cushioned midsole with a molded sockliner, and a classic breathable mesh upper, all forming a structure with a modern design that also easily fits in as a casual footwear.
The Reebok Driftium is constructed following the standard running shoe length; thus, runners could expect to fit in their usual size preference. However, for some who want more room for toe splay, or those who want a looser fit, going to a physical store for fitting is highly recommended. The shoe’s narrow structure will fit best on wearers with low to medium foot volume. The Reebok Driftium is available in Medium width for both men and women.
For many running shoes, the carbon rubber is a go-to material to create a durable underfoot outer coverage, and the Reebok Driftium is no exception to it. The shoe’s outsole possesses a high-abrasion quality, which makes it expectedly sturdy and long-lasting.
The shoe features a simple tread pattern of vertical lines that are perforated across by several horizontal rows. This design promotes effortless mobility, as well as a flexible transition.
The ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam utilized in the midsole of the Driftium guarantees the optimum-level cushioning to comfortably pad the foot and support long-distance running with ease. Though simple and not as technology-laden as those of other running shoes, the midsole of the Driftium effectively provides shock absorption and energy return. This basic design is reminiscent of the Asics Gel Contend 4.
A molded sockliner on top of the midsole gives additional cushioning and underfoot protection.
A breathable mesh upper equips the Reebok Driftium with the adequate ventilation for a comfortable in-shoe feel. Beneath it is a soft fabric lining that adds to the comfort level.
Similar to other Reebok running shoes, the Driftium features the iconic side profile that includes a display of the brand logo on a solid panel that acts as a support framework. This detail is made from eco-leather, which gives off a soft sensation.
Other upper elements of the Driftium are involved to supply even more comfort for the runner. These include a rounded toe with a rubber cap for protection, padded tongue, and padded collar for cushioned coverage around the ankle. Lastly, a pull-tab at the heel promotes the convenience of wearing the shoe.
