Durable and protective - the Pulsate 2 LTR WP hiking shoe gets high marks for being amazingly comfortable and supportive. • This new version of the Pulsate hiker features a full-grain leather upper with mesh for optimal protection against the elements.
  • It's equipped with the M Select DRY impermeable membrane that seals water out and keeps the foot dry amidst wet conditions, the Merrell Air Cushion in the heel that absorbs impact, and the M Select GRIP outsole that bites into varying terrains.

This model has a low-cut profile for absolute freedom of movement. The collar is cut relatively low on the sides but high enough at the back to provide a decent amount of support and coverage. Also, the removable insole is contoured to the foot for a comfortable fit. This shoe features a lightly padded tongue and collar, and a lace-up closure for a precise fit.

Designed for varying terrains, the Pulsate 2 LTH WP has the M Select GRIP outsole with an aggressive lug profile. It has a lug depth of 5mm-deep which makes it great for soft and muddy surfaces. M Select GRIP soles are known for their durability, high slip-resistance, and stability on wet and dry ground. The wide contact area of the lugs provides enhanced traction and the grooves around the edges help in channeling water out.

This hiking shoe from Merrell uses a compression-molded EVA midsole which is known for its lightness, superior cushioning, and energy return. EVA stands for ethylene-vinyl acetate. It is widely used in manufacturing performance footwear because it is one of the materials that offer the best shock absorption qualities. For added support and comfort, this hiker also comes with the Merrell Kinetic Fit BASE removable insole. This footbed is very flexible and has an intuitive shape for absolute arch coverage. It's also treated with an organic odor control solution for keeping the foot fresh and germ-free.

This version of the Pulsate 2 features an upper made of full-grain leather and mesh. Full-grain leather is considered the best type of leather as it is the most durable, thick, and least prone to wearing. Lining the shoe interior is a waterproof membrane that is designed and developed by the Merrell team. It works by sealing water out while allowing moisture (sweat) to escape.

To further protect the foot against impact, this shoe is equipped with an air cushion in the heel. Aside from absorbing shock, this Merrell-exclusive technology also makes the shoe more stable.

Completing the upper is a traditional lacing system with webbing loops for a locked-in feel. It's also treated with antimicrobial agents that reduce shoe odor.
