The Danner Caprine is touted as Danner's most urban-style hiking shoes. It is a solid option if you:

Size and fit

The Danner Capri is a mid-top boot with a foot-hugging knit upper. The collar, tongue, and top portion of the midfoot are made of knitted fabric which creates a sock-like feel. Additionally, it has a traditional lace-up closure featuring robust round laces and metal eyelets that ensure a secure fit.

Promises great surface traction

For this specific shoe, Danner has partnered with Vibram and created a durable outsole that matches trail and urban environments. Featuring a large surface area, this boot promises great traction on concrete paths, hard and rocky terrain, and even slippery roads. It contains the Megagrip compound which is a very sticky rubber that works on both wet and dry surfaces. 

Provides strength and stability 

The lugs in the heel have a parabolic shape that mimics the toe of a goat hoof. This provides strength and stability for independent movement from each side of the heel.

For a comfortable and supportive stride, this shoe uses the Plyolite EVA midsole. It delivers long-lasting underfoot protection without the added bulk. Additionally, the Caprine boot comes with an Ortholite footbed which is made of open-cell polyurethane that ensures breathability. This removable insole is also contoured providing more foot support.

This boot also has a nylon shank that works by reducing the weight incurred by the wearer's weight while enhancing the structure and durability of the shoe.

The Caprine features a leather upper with abrasion-resistant woven textile which grants a comfortable fit and breathability. The shaft height of this boot extends up to the ankle and the knit collar creates a snug fit around it.
