Though the current scene is a revival of 90s shoe with chunky silhouettes, the Adidas Taekwondo sneaker chose to defy the prevailing trend. Nowadays, the sneaker world is dominated by chunky or dad shoes from the 90s. However, Adidas Originals chose to defy this trend by creating an innovative design that took inspiration from martial arts training shoes. The Adidas Taekwondo is a low-top sneaker that was released in women’s-specific fit on February 7 of 2019.

Although this model took cues from the archive of Adidas, it has an overall style that shows a minimal design when compared to its contemporaries. As the name implies, the low-top Taekwondo has a slip-on style that is offered in a black or white upper. Its ergonomic upper is contrasting with the gold foil branding and shoe name towards the heel as well as the Three Stripes at the medial side.

  • The Adidas Taekwondo has a removable insole to give way for custom orthotics.
  • It has a gum rubber outsole that keeps the foot steady and provides a sure-footed grip.
  • The outsole spacing offers rear and forefoot comfort as it allows the midfoot to contort naturally.
